Forum Post: Why OWS is more than just Wall Street

A friend of mine worked for an employer who was clearly "the 1%". The company was pretty damn crooked. Not only was it against policy to do business with gay bars (straight bars were allowed), but questions about your religious beliefs were prerequisite in the interview process. This is just the tip of the iceberg at this place. He started blogging about his experiences (to keep himself sane) and made sure to keep all specific info about his employer and himself anonymous. Well, he got laid off and made the blog public. A few days later the VP left an incredibly unprofessional and inflammatory comment on the blog (ip address tracking confirmed the location as well as e-mail). What gets me about the whole situation is I've talked to plenty of people who work and have worked for this employer and it's all the same story. These people care nothing about how they treat their employees....the same employees that help make them rich. This isn't a rant about "evil rich" or "1% sucks". There are probably plenty of wonderful "1%-ers" out there who run stand up businesses and treat their employees well. This is a call to correct the attitudes and practices in business that got us here in the first place.

The first comment at the link below is the actual comment posted by the VP of this company.I have never worked for this man and will shovel elephant shit for the circus before I ever would. People like him are the reason I support OWS.
