????? don't allow anyone to network movement resources ???? what are u talking about ?

[-] 1 points by EconomicCrack (22) 12 years ago

Set up a support group or project for Occupy, then tell people on this forum about it. You will have your answer.

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

hmmmm... I've posted many, many links to outsides projects here... maybe there's another reason.... did you post multiple posts of same content ?... if so .. maybe it was identified as spam by the software ...

[-] 1 points by EconomicCrack (22) 12 years ago

So you are only allowed to tell one user and hope it spread itself among everything else being discussed? Does that sound logical? That must be why I have never heard of any support offering from you.

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

no.... it is better to discuss what you are talking about ... most of us here..eventually read or at least see every post... so simply seeing the same link over and over again get's obtrusive .. no ?

[-] 1 points by EconomicCrack (22) 12 years ago

No, you don't. There is far to much content for an individual to read in a reasonable amount of time. Thats bullocks and you know it. If you tell 15 people something and then move on to regular discussion, I don't find that obtrusive, in fact that is exactly how occupy started. Say the founders of Occupy told one person this week, then one person next week, ect, you wouldn't be here. Your reasoning makes no sense.

try it now... post your link ;)

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

EC .. think about what I am telling you .... forum software ... checks for identical posts... and removes them if they look like spam...

[-] 1 points by EconomicCrack (22) 12 years ago

They don't send you private messages being a smart ass about banning you for sharing links regarding lobbying groups trying to tear down Occupy from within.

https://docs.google.com/viewer?url=http://richardkentgates.com/docs/CLGF-msnbc.pdf&chrome=true

Does that look like spam? A PDF from a lobbying group trying to tear down Occupy from the inside out?

Knowingly banning someone from sharing information about a group that is paid to infiltrate Occupy, then being a smart ass about banning them for sharing it, is not guarding against spam, it's suspicious as all hell.

yes

any lobying group is failing to make the information accessible in text format

so it can be copied , hightlighted, editted (but always give credit) and shared

hey Richard... hehehe ... that was likely Thrashy attacking u with his bots ...

Does that look like spam? ... yeah it did when it was posted 30+ times last night ... I liked the link btw ... ;) .... but u were saying something about porn sites ??? ... or was that the bot's version ?

[-] 0 points by EconomicCrack (22) 12 years ago

Thrasy is a porn site developer. He has linked to my blog from one of his porn sites. I won't post the link on here so you'll just have to trust me that it shows in my analytics and I tracked the IP to Indonesia, thrasys fav proxy, even tho it has a .ru extension. So yeah, I was calling him out and porn site developers fit the MO of someone who would troll for cash. Does thrasy have the ability to keep peoples posts and replies from showing? I doubt that highly.

[-] 2 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

maybe so... but imo... who cares?... we got far too much real problems to deal with ... and thrasy is actually pretty good with coding .. so he might have figured out how to remove the posts .. but I think it's more likely the spam software did it.... RKG, your link was good .. I liked it... and it would have been received w/o problems if you had not tried to tie it in with the porn ref... no ? .... anyway if you want to go up against thrasy.. I suggest ... get a proxy ... and do some TCP code to identify & follow his posts ... but I bet he will beat you ... if you don't spend at least a month or two studying what to do ... ;) a battle not worth accepting.. imo ;)

Why would I ever want to do that? I don't come to this forum to flame. I was giving the guy some heat for being a dick. Point to all the articles you want, I did, but it's dying and being replace with plain ol populism because the tea party is bought and you guys are still stuck in the "Oh wow, I have control over something" mode and are apparently still discovering adulthood. Here is the next lesson, knee jerk reactions cost you, and this time it may cost the country another 10 years of this bullshit. Congrats. And I don't mean you specifically or this incident, you know this is systemic behavior, I mean the crowd in control of the resources for Occupy. But, it's their resources to lose and or destroy. Sad to watch. I've waited a long time, I'll be waiting longer is all.

You can't win at the hacking game if you don't know what you are doing. The first rule is to be as lazy as possible. Don't use a sophisticated rainbow table attack to crack a password if you can simply use the psychological method. Most people use very bad passwords.

What Richard should have done was to ask the moderators to compare the IP he got from Indonesia with the IPs collected from Thrasymaque. Instead, he is basing his accusation on an assumption. I do not have anything against porn, but I have never developed for that industry nor do I have any ties with any porn site of any kind. Porn is illegal in Indonesia. Running a porn site from this country could land you in jail for 20 years. I don't take such idiotic risks, especially when there are all kinds of other types of companies looking for developers.

What happened is very simple. In his anger, Richard published his link about 15 times in the same post. This is spam. Publishing the same link in different postings might go unnoticed, but publishing it 15 or so times in the same article is a tad too obvious. I then upvoted 7 of these copy/pasted comments with a bot so they would take over the "best comments" and be seen by all moderators. A moderator comes in, sees the spam in the "best comments", then bans Richard. Voilà!

Of course, Richard has already been banned 30 or so times since he began using this forum so this is no big deal. When we first met, he went under the username "fredastaire". The mods have always identified him as a spammer. This very posting in which he cries out "Why Jart?" in a romanticized Shakespearean lament is also spam. It only serves to flood the forum with more trivial drivel.

It's also worth nothing that Richard was stalking me yesterday by replying to each and every one of my comments with his copy/pasted link.

He got banned for a good reason, and because he's not very sharp on the Internet.

P.S. A funny note is that only a few weeks ago, Richard was going on and on about how I wasn't a developer, and that I didn't have bots. Now, he's changed his assumption and I'm suddenly a porn developer spamming his forum. Unsurprisingly, I never once posted porn links on the Internet.

Oh Richard! Why?
