Words are very powerful. Very powerful.
Isn't it more peaceful to advertise a Peaceful Protest than a Non-Violent one? Non-violent has the word violent in it. The brain can't shake that out. It thinks it. It always implies a struggle against violence. We have to struggle against violence and remain non-violent. Peaceful is 100% genuinely peaceful. It's nice. A Peaceful Protest. It's sweet even. A Non-Violent protest doesn't sound good at all. It almost sounds violent, especially if you spice it up with some big tanks.
And then... BIG TANKS.
