Forum Post: Why I'm voting for Obama in 2012

Honestly, whether I like it or not I'm voting for Obama in 2012. My reasoning is simply that he's the only one in the field who has a real shot at winning the election that will at least try to get things done. Ideally Green Party candidates like Jill Stein or Kent Mesplay would be able to capture a large enough share of the vote to be viable candidates, but third-and fourth-party people tend not to get anywhere in our current electoral system and a vote cast there is thus a vote lost when everything is said and done.

That also rules out Rocky Anderson and RJ Harris, and I'm also pretty sure that the Libertarian Party is even more strongly against re-regulation of private industry and similar measures that I firmly believe will help to turn this country around than the mainstream Republicans appear to be. I have serious reservations about Ron PauI and Buddy Roemer even if they do get the backing of a major political party, and I have articulated those reasons on here multiple times, and you can just forget about me voting for any of the mainstream Republican candidates; I disagree strongly with them on the issues and have little if any trust in or respect for them as people.

I could always simply refuse to vote, but the way things work here a vote not cast for Obama becomes an indirect vote for whoever the GOP finally sets on as their nominee, and I am not going to contribute to the election of any of those people, even indirectly.

Obama is a fraud!!!

Wall Street's takeover of the Obama administration is now complete. "The mega-banks and their corporate allies control every economic policy position of consequence. Mr. Obama has moved rapidly since the November debacle to install business people where it counts most. Mr.William Daley from JP Morgan Chase as White House Chief of Staff. Mr. Gene Sperling from the Goldman Sachs payroll to be director of the National Economic Council. Eileen Rominger from Goldman Sachs named director of the SEC's Investment Management division. Even the National Security Advisor, Thomas Donilon, was executive vice president for law and policy at the disgraced Fannie Mae after serving as a corporate lobbyist with O'Melveny & Roberts. The keystone of the business friendly team was put in place on Friday. General Electric Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt will serve as chair of the president's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness."

He supported the bailouts of a fraudulent financial system that is extracting wealth from our country and stealing people's pensions and homes. The bailout money was used by the federal reserve to create 7.7 trillion dollars out of thin air for their own private interest, and Obama has yet to do anything about it.

"Is this the United States congress, or the board of directors of Goldman Sachs?"-Dennis Kucinich

The Federal Reserve is not a government agency. It's a private for profit bank ran by frauds. Its a Ponzi scheme where they issue debt created from thin air and then they STEAL your tax money and put it in their wallets and their cronies' pockets. You know those trillions of dollars in government debt? Who do you think pays the interest on it?!?! WE DO! The Federal Reserve has no accountability and create trillions of dollars out of thin air for their own private interests all the while devaluing our US dollar. You don't see Obama trying to correct this fraudulent system.

He's bombed more countries than Bush. Countries like Libya, Pakistan, Yemen, Afghanistan... etc

He extended the Bush tax cuts.

He never actually closed guantanamo bay.

He lied about ending the wars in Iraq and the current withdrawal was scheduled by the Bush administration. And there is a billion dollar military base in Iraq and I guarantee you that it aint empty.

He also supported the patriot act, which essentially deletes the 4th amendment.

He's started unconstitutional acts of war against Libya, which he spoke out against when Bush did that to Iraq.

Obama signed for the indefinite detention of US citizens without trial into law under provisions of the NDAA and "designates the world as the battlefield and that includes the homeland." -quote senator Lindsey Graham who supported the bill and argued in it's favor.

http://www.salon.com/2011/12/15/obama_to_sign_indefinite_detention_bill_into_law/

“This bill [the NDAA] authorizes permanent warfare anywhere in the world. It gives the president unchecked power to pursue war. It diminishes the role of this Congress. The founders saw Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution, which places in the hands of Congress the war power, as essential to a check and balance against the executive abuse of power. This legislation diminishes Congress' role in that regard.” - Dennis Kucinich

In reference to the passing of the new NDAA the Armed Services Committee released this,"the threats posed by al Qaeda cells in Yemen and Africa underscore the evolving and continuing nature of the terrorist threat to the United States. The Conference Report ensures the United States will have the ability to meet this threat and neutralize terrorists from these groups and conduct effective interrogations." More war for Obama!

Next stop Africa and Yemen!!! Maybe Iran or Syria next? Fulfill that cold war with some Operation Northwoods and go to war with Russia? Who knows? It's the government. It's a threat to national security to tell you the truth all the time.Maybe China a few years from now?

“We suggest a distinctive tactic for breaking up the hard core of extremists who supply conspiracy theories: cognitive infiltration of extremist groups, whereby government agents or their allies (acting either virtually or in real space, and either openly or anonymously) will undermine the crippled epistemology of believers by planting doubts about the theories and stylized facts that circulate within such groups, thereby introducing beneficial cognitive diversity.” -Cass R Sunstein, Administrator of the White House Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs in the Obama administration.

Oh and don't forget about this Hour long presentation in congress about Al Qaeda members being the Libyan rebels, as well as extremists, rapists, and murderers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-G0pUEU603Q&list=FLEwSllwonAZBCc7W3e27_dQ&index=42&feature=plpp_video

In case any of you don't like the first video because it's a republican here is super Liberal Dennis Kucinich railing against Al Qaeda in the rebels as well.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSUnluGSOdM&list=FLEwSllwonAZBCc7W3e27_dQ&index=43&feature=plpp_video

And here is an article on the Libyan rebel leader admitting to having a bunch of Al Qaeda members in his "rebellion" which is actually just terrorism.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/libya/8407047/Libyan-rebel-commander-admits-his-fighters-have-al-Qaeda-links.html

And to all the remaining Obama fans, please don't try and accuse me of being in favor of Newt Gingrich or tell me some bullshit about McCain Palin. My criticism for Obama is simply based around facts and in no way means I support a GOP agenda. Obama is a fraud and so is Newt Gingrich.

Well said. It is astounding that anyone, who is against Wall Street greed and its corrupting influence, can possibly support Obama. #OWS for Obama is an oxymoron. That is not to say the other candidates running for president are anything to write home about. But you should never vote for a politician who betrays your trust and Obama has certainly done that. He had his chance and failed miserably. Worse, he didn't hold any Wall Street bankstas to account...not one of them. Instead, he solicits their campaign funds and appoints their cronies, like Bernanke and Geithner, to run our economy. Only a punk politician would do that and allow honest protesters in the streets to get their heads bashed in when they seek justice and the right to express themselves.

[-] 1 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 12 years ago

Yes. Amazing comment. I'm still hoping a true liberal will rise up and oppose George W Obama for the democratic nomination. Anyone that is going to vote Obama went from "Yes We Can" in 2008 to "well... I mean... he's not as bad as Romney" in 2012. I really think he's going to lose to whatever republican runs against him... which is why the democrats need to choose a real democrat. I'm not sure who I'm voting for but it won't be Obama and it won't be someone with a GOP agenda.

[-] 2 points by ARod1993 (2420) 12 years ago

I don't see you as a Republican shill (or a Republican in general), but when you're voting in a system like ours you don't have the luxury of parading candidates and platforms in front of you and then selecting the perfect one when he arrives. Whether we should have that luxury is a whole other matter, and I feel like it would make a better democracy if we did, but for the time being the question is whether his opponents are worse. From what I can tell, the outcome of voting against Obama (or not at all) is going to produce a worse America than the outcome of voting for him, and therefore as frustrated as I am with certain of his policies I'm going to vote for him.

[-] 1 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 12 years ago

I think Obama and Romney are the essentially the same person that say slightly different things. I'm voting third party. Just waiting to see who makes the ballot.

[-] 1 points by Anachronism (225) 12 years ago

Voting is useless

[-] 2 points by ARod1993 (2420) 12 years ago

How so? Even if in the end my vote goes for someone who's not capable of fixing this country at least voting to put (or keep) him in power means shutting out the guy who's going to break it even worse than it's broken now. Not voting isn't some grand statement, it's just passing the buck to the rest of the country.

[-] 1 points by Mowat (164) 12 years ago

You are right. Whoever is voted in will not have help to make the changes sought by the voters possible. There are gangsters all-over the government and the banking system coupled with support from the mainstream media brainwashing the public. The gangsters will kill the next president if he tries to bring real reform like they did to JKF. They must be replaced with better people first. I don't see how this can be done except, maybe, by a military-coup?

You get a "B+" for creating a suitable OWS honey pot.

If an orange juice can runs against Obama, I will vote for it.

[-] -2 points by Farleymowat (415) 12 years ago

Oust Obama. He hates America.

[-] 3 points by XaiverBuchsIV (508) 12 years ago

All politicians hate America. It's one of the job qualifications.

[-] 0 points by Farleymowat (415) 12 years ago

Well said.

[-] 3 points by ARod1993 (2420) 12 years ago

First of all, what am I supposed to replace him with? There's nobody in the field who has a serious chance at winning that's not going to be far worse for this country than he was. Second, why exactly does he hate America?

[-] -1 points by Mooks (1985) 12 years ago

I don't think you can say for sure that the GOP candidate will be far worse than Obama. I would vote for Obama over someone like Gingrich or Perry but would probably vote for Romney instead of Obama. Being from NH, I look forward to my vote "counting" in both the primary and likely the general election this year.

[-] -2 points by Farleymowat (415) 12 years ago

He hates our children. They must pay for all of the bullshit passed since he took office. Our children will live in poverty because of the reckless spending of the last four years. Yes, this includes Bush's reckless spending too..

[-] 3 points by Southern99er (12) 12 years ago

Since I DON"T have children, I could care less what they pay for in the future. I am PAYING for Reagan Era policies right now. Win the Cold War? We didn't win. We are still in the mindset that we are competing with the USSR. What caused the USSR to break up? Over spending on military, lack of a sound infrastructure, a long war in Afganistan and a poor education system. Guess What? They realized this was bad 20 years ago and we are still in that mindset.

Obama is a product of the media blitz against him. Congress needs to step up and work. They have excelent pay, great benifits and a retirement plan better than any business in this country. These lazy asses are the real problem. Thank you Fox New for ripping this country apart. You Jack Asses!

[-] 0 points by Farleymowat (415) 12 years ago

We will always be in one form of war or another. And we are paying for veyr little of Rayguns era. Raygun left office having increased the federal deficit from 1 trillion dollars to 2 trillion. Outrageous? Yes. Unmanageable? No. Obama is a product of his racist pastor, wright, and his ghost writer pal Bill ayers. He is a Saul alynski disciple too. The media love Obama, where have you been? What station do you watch that you would say that, fox news? And sinc e you don't have children you could care less about what they pay for in the future? You are an ass.

[-] 1 points by Southern99er (12) 12 years ago

If you had any idea what the budget office or a budget defacit is I might listen to you, BUY YOU DON'T. The budget is based on estimates of spending projected for the next 10 years. Bush screwed the budget and the economy. And YES, I am STILL paying for Regan Era policies. All Republicans lay down and belive Regan had no faults. YOU and they are wrong. I care wht I pay for right now.
The Republicans have been led by the Tea Party and Fox News, which are onw in the same, for the past 3 years. It is funny how the sell this as a grass roots effort when Glen Beck instigated the Tea Party. They are all a bunch of racest biggots. If FOX wants to pass itself off as a new organization, then they should stop preaching and start reporting.

It is a good thing Glen Beck has his hand up your ass, or you would have no origional thoughts

[-] 0 points by Farleymowat (415) 12 years ago

Bite my ass southern phony dude. You dont know what the fuck you are talking about. You are an incoherent babbler. Fuck fox, fuck Beck and Fuck you. I know what a budget, and a profit and loss statement is. This country is fucked, because of the trajectory that has been going on for the past 80 years, going back to pre wwII. What are you, listening to your 10th grade Marxist social studies teacher?
