Forum Post: Why don't we start ONN? The Occupy News Network?

We need to get out a clear and coherent message. This would be the way. A You Tube channel dedicated to iReports from Occupy sites all over the world. Breaking News of Occupy camps being raided, concise stories from GA, consensuses that have formed, which camps need what tools or supplies, etc.

There should be enough media people here in the movement to put this together. We don't need any studios. It should all be live, just presented in a manner that puts forth the message that we are here to stay.

The best part is that anyone who tunes in will be able to see how big the movement is and how we are going to change the world.

Wonderful Idea! I am always skipping all over the internet trying to find out what the main events are occuring globally. It not only will consolidate information globally in one place but also increase the cohesiveness of the movement and spread communications more effectively. Occupy Together is already to large to manuever to every occupy site to evaluate the days events. Kudos to ya!! I will watch constantly if it happens!!

I have one in the making here: http://www.infonomx.com/OccupyWallStreet_Map/All/usa_map.html but it is currently locked with userid and password because I am working on something else at the moment. If you wish to see it, reply and I will make it available for your viewing. Excuse the security but when I am mentally away from the site, hackers are a risk.

Another thought, it would also lend more credibility to the movement. Audiences will lend more credence to something that appears organized enough to accomplish this. You can then also have faces to associate with the channel just like any other news organization and perception means everything(unfortunately).

What about the "News" link on this site (see New in the menu bar above).

Well, it is helpful, but not very current

Should this be more of a focus for the OWS leadership?
There should be a current and offical news site for the movement, correct?

BRILLIANT IDEA, newearthorder": Here's a potential news item:

The lawsuit that could end the gangster rule of Western civilization

The lawsuit that could end the gangster rule of Western civilization by Colette Cseszko in www.Mathaba Net

The lawsuit that could end the gangster rule of Western civilization The United States is a private corporation owned by the British Crown (Rothchilds), the Bank of England (Rothchilds) and the Vatican (Rothchilds again)

A lawsuit was filed on November 23rd that could end the secret government that has ruled Western civilization for at least the past 300 years. The lawsuit claims that close to $1 trillion was stolen by, among others, UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and the UN, former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and the Italian government, Giancarlo Bruno and the Davos World Economic forum and others believed to include many of the owners of the US Federal Reserve Board. The lawsuit was filed in New York by Neil Keenan, acting as representative of the Dragon family, a reclusive group of wealthy Asian families. This filing is the result of extensive evidence gathering by international police and law-enforcement agencies including Interpol, the CIA, the Japanese Security Police, Eastern European secret services and has the backing of the Pentagon as well as the armed forces of Russia and China. It would be more "ONN" than "OFF"...

Great idea-an inexpensive way to do it is local city programming. Remember the days when American Atheists did that? Madeline Murray O'Hare was able to introduce more viewers to viewpoint from an atheist perspective, now they've taken it online http://www.atheists.org/ but I haven't seen the show featured since the late 1980's and I lived in California then.
