Forum Post: why does the corporatist 1% party -

Posted 10 years ago on June 19, 2013, 3:17 a.m. EST by bensdad (8977)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

spend over $55,000,000 trying to repeal the ACA 37 times - that will never be repealed?
&
spend more millions on trying to ban abortions will never become law
and is, incidentally, unconstitutional ???

some people say this is to appease their base -
I see this differently:

The employees of the corporatist 1% want to waste legislative time
to appear to do the people's work
but they know that two of our biggest issues are
jobs ( according to john boehner ) & infrastructure
and
there is only one real solution to this-

tax the corporations and the 1% to hire the 99%

and the crapitalists refuse to allow their servants to
solve these real problems - for exactly one reason - the corporatists & 1% would have to pay more tax

I believe we are going to need a lot more than taxing the top to fix the jobs problem.....

don't get me wrong... I believe we should tax the top...

but the jobs problem today is more a evolutionary thing....

primarily our advancements of technology is eliminating manufacturing and many service related tasks.... there are factories now that are 100% automated ... and realistically in 50 years all will be....

we (America) have also allowed most of our manufacturing to go to impoverished countries... good for the world... but bad for our economy...

the real issue is that it now takes fewer and fewer people to perform the same tasks ....

we are not needed anymore.... ; )

that could be a very good thing .... if we could simply learn how to share ....

set an absolute minimum tax on any corporation that sells anything in America,
bo deductions or exemptions
use that money to hire teachers & infrastructure workers

More and more I feel that our economic and political systems are in the throes of death, fighting desperately to survive the only way they ever have -- another bloody war and other knee-jerk reactions. IMO, we cannot stop our governments and other institutions from dying because they have been sick for a very long time -- corruption is the cancer of the bodies politic. The question is: what do WE do? Start the starting over right now, at the local level; then when the corrupt and callous institutions finally do die, we will have a base from which to rebuild our country -- maybe even the world. Inflation can wipe out all of the 1% overnight, and the people will have to be able to cope without money. Who do you think is best equipped to do that?

I think about 25 years ago was when this decision was really critical.

"The question is: what do WE do? Start the starting over right now, at the local level; then when the corrupt and callous institutions finally do die, we will have a base from which to rebuild our country -"

We are weakened in everyway, mostly psychologically. Confused and divided by media. We had the reserve or economy 25 years ago. This is a time to consider that if we do not learn how to make many small sacrifices, our rights and freedoms will be gone.

Some are weak psychologically because they have bought into all the b.s. that has been taught to us as truth. Advertising and media have been programming us the way they want to. Everything had a purpose and it was not to help the citizens. Money is supposed to be a medium of exchange, representing the labor it takes to make or do something, so we can trade more effectively. It has no intrinsic value, only what we say it has. No more is that true because money itself became a commodity and tool of speculators. In the screenplay I am writing, in one small, forgotten town, that medium of exchange is re-defined as a credit (Bitcoin) added to a computer account for one hour of "work", but work is really very, very broadly defined. http://createyourownreality-parksview.blogspot.com/ will take you to the general idea I'm using and a summary of what I have in the script so far. I welcome input and ideas that are outside the box because we have done broken the box :) We all should start from scratch, assume everything we have been taught was a distortion, and operate only with what we know from experience and logic to be true. Nearly all, if not all, people are more cooperative and more willing to care about and for each other than governments are. Thanks for paying attention.

Yes, critical review of societies knowledge is very much in order.

"we have done broken the box :) We all should start from scratch, assume everything we have been taught was a distortion, and operate only with what we know from experience and logic to be true"

Since it is the conduct of people we placed in control, albeit, while we were deceived, we really should try and learn how that conduct came about with such a large group and how did they gather all of power? Something tells me that all of our experiences in that area of experience will be very rewarding.

I have come to believe that nothing we make works because we are not operating with all of our nature. Humans have a spiritual and a physical half -- if you do not believe that, think about the age you feel inside compared to the age of your body. Or focus all your attention on the idea of "opening" your heart and letting love out, as in a hug. The spirit does not age. But we have not developed our spirit as we have our body and mind. It has been ridiculed, actually. But once each of us recognizes our spirit half, and allows it to direct our actions, the mind, body and emotions will be in service of our better half, we will be complete and thus able to organize what works.

Ditto, in fact this is why psychology is so often ineffective.

what can we do to reverse the corruption?
DISCONNECT CAPITALISM FROM DEMOCRACY
Do what 80% of Americans + 100 congressmen + 1309 mayors want

http://corporationsarenotpeople.webuda.com

Virtually everything we want hinges on disarming our opponent –
……LEGALIZED CAPITALIST 1% GREED
by stopping the flood of bribes into our government.
by stopping the control – by their capitalism – of our democracy

YOU WANT TO GET IT DONE ?
Join the NYC OWS
Corporations are not People and Money is not Speech Working Group

This is the first REAL step to REAL change .

government OF the people BY the people FOR the people

check out our comprehensive analysis of
the existing proposed amendments – especially HJR29
and our detailed historical timeline of corporate personhood

Are you ready
.....................FOR ACTION ?
Are you ready
.....................TO DO SOMETHING REAL ?
Are you ready
......................TO JOIN 80% OF YOUR FELLOW AMERICANS ?

We must not
DEMAND that we WANT THEM to give to US
We must
DEMAND GOALS THAT WE WILL ACHIEVE FOR OURSELVES

Because of the Supreme Court's decision,
we cannot accomplish anything significant, without FIRST -

Overturning Citizens United !!!
Ending Corporate Personhood !!!
and HJR29 is t he clearest path to this goal

80% of Americans already agree on it
as stated in the ABC/Washington Post poll

http://corporationsarenotpeople.webuda.com/1_6_DOCUMENTS.html click on #12

And in the the PFAW Poll -

85% of voters say that corporations have too much influence over the political system today.
77% think Congress should support an amendment to limit the amount corporations can spend on elections.
74% say that they would be more likely to vote for a candidate for Congress who pledged to support a
Constitutional Amendment limiting corporate spending in elections.

http://corporationsarenotpeople.webuda.com/1_6_DOCUMENTS.html click on #11

Our primary goal should be to elect representatives who support a constitutional amendment to reverse the Supreme Court decision Citizens United (2010) , that enables unlimited amounts of anonymous money to flood into our political system.
We don’t have to explain or persuade people to accept our position – …..we only have to persuade them to ACT based on their own position. Pursuing this goal will prove to the world that we, at OWS,
…..are a serious realistic movement, with serious realistic goals. Achieving this goal will make virtually every other goal –
…..jobs, taxes, infrastructure, Medicare – much easier to achieve –
…..by disarming our greatest enemy – GREED.

IT IS TIME FOR YOU TO ACT ----> JOIN US TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

I feel that using the tactics of the NRA, the AARP, the TP, the anti-SOPA –
who all represent a minority – who have successfully used their voting power
and political pressure to achieve their minority goals -
is a straight path for us to success that cannot fail to enable us to
create and complete one task that the MAJORITY want.

Republicanazis spend about 0.1% of their campaign funds and effort on abortion. This gets them 25% of their votes. Higher than that in Deep Red States.

What you got that's more efficient at churning votes for next to no dollars ?

They also get to send Tom DeLay into megachurches, where he gets to preach sermons and the local GOP Brown Shirts get to retreat to the rod&gun, have a brew, and laugh their asses off at the fool church people.
