I grew up in Michigan lots of people lost their jobs to robots. We are representing ourselves, right now, right here. The internet has made the idea of a republic outdated. We have the ability to create a direct democracy. Why are we paying for around 500 people to make laws for a nation of 300,000,000? When our country began it was hard to travel or send mail. There was no telecommunication. We needed representatives then. What about now?
Direct democracy can not be absolute. Even, in case of legislative approval Nardialog, there are issues which require a work government and parliament.
Direct democracy does not seem to be working here in OWS. The General Assembly method of voting requires actual physical presence at a GA meeting. In NYC that means that one must be physicially present in downtowm Manhattan four nights a week at 7 pm. Talk about a burden. If you can't make it, your voice is not heard.
The OWS movement has a voting system called the General Assembly (GA). This system is direct democracy; however it only considers the votes of those phyisically present in downtown Manhattan, NY. Votes can be held up to 4 times a week at 7 pm.
If the location, frequency and hour are not conducive to you, your vote does not count. You have no voice in OWS.
How frequently have you voted at GA meetings in downtown Manhattan?

So, no, and even if I had an answer to every question you ever asked in your life, it would be based on my experience and knowledge. It may be correct based on my knowledge but still be the wrong answer. Any person with any brains accepts that they may have come to the wrong conclusion and is willing to reexamine their thought process for errors. You on the other hand are right even when you have no position to attack or defend. Congratulations. You are officially the smartest person on earth

Speaking as someone who supported your movement when you first began to protest, can you please answer me a question? What do you expect to accomplish by heckling the president? Hasn't Barack Obama done anything for the middle and lower classes? I follow politics closely and have seen our president accomplish quite a bit considering the political climate. What is it that you expect to gain from ridiculing and disrespecting him? Do you want another republican in the White House? Please inform me as to why I shouldn't hate all of you for what you are trying to do to Obama who i voted for and will vote for again? We need more local and state power. That's the key to a modern democracy.
A Republic was chosen in America because our founding fathers figured citizens are far too impetuous for a straight democrtatic vote.
