Forum Post: Why Aren't We . . .

I've been following Occupy Wall Street for a little while now, trying to discern what it is we are actually asking for. Honestly, I have yet to really figure that out. I've talked to people, scoured the web, and looked all through the website, but I can't seem to find anything close to specific. It seems like everyone involved has their own idea of what Occupy Wall Street is fighting, which may be great for gathering numbers, but not so great for actually bringing change. So, I ask, why aren't we . . .

Protesting outside the large corporations that own and control not only your food supply, your communications, and the clothes on your back, but have their claws in the heart of the government? For instance, any of the 4 major companies that own almost all of America's food production?

Marching in Washington, asking government to make a change where their home is? Corporations are greedy, that's why their corporations, the government is supposed to protect us from that greed, and they are failing. Why aren't we on their doorstep for that failure?

Offering up solutions and plans instead of throwing our weight around? Catch phrases are great and help to get a point across, but if we don't have a battle plan for change, how can we expect anyone to take us seriously?

Getting individuals to begin protests in all major cities in the US, instead of only NY. I personally am a long way away from where it seems all the action is. I'd love to join in on what you all are doing, but I haven't seen much involvement where I'm at.

Appointing speakers? I know organization is a difficult concept with such a huge movement, but we really need to have people willing to stand up, rally others around them and say: "This is what we want. This is how we are going to get it." So the media can focus in on what's going on instead of showing a jumbled mess of opinions.

Sorry for the length of the post, hope you made it to the end.

I agree, we should be marching in Washington.

The Taxed Enough Already Party already did that.

So one march is all that was needed? I guess occupiers can go home since they have already marched once.

The TEA party people have been to D.C. countless times and have visited their reps. and senators offices en mass.

The problem is OWS is just a bunch of nitwits who will show up for a protest for any reason and don't care or know the reason. Many are also getting paid by the Democrat organizations.

Most are lazy morons who don't bother to look for work because they're too damn lazy. They're slobs that defecate on the sidewalk and piss in people's doorways.

They think that by disrupting other people's lives that they can get things changed. The fact is those people just want to punch them in the face.

They have this web site bit that isn't enough of a way to protest, they have to instigate. Most are just retards who will follow the other lemmings.

Maybe one of them will jump off the Brooklyn Bridge tonight and the others will follow. One can hope can't they?

I laughed at #6, if they want that, they should move to Canada where it is free for Canadian Citizens. Same with 10, apparently students are trillions in debt. I am in debt $14,000 which will be paid off in 2-3 years.

I give you some possible demands.

No corporate donation to politicians and parties for elections. May the best win not the one that has friends with deep pockets?

Corporations are not people (Supreme Court 2009 Jan) A Corporation is a tool not a person with political influence!

Class Action claim against the lobby that caused homeowners to loose their real estate equity. Re payment of bailout and damages that where caused to taxpayers.

Handling of Student Loans – affordable Education for all.

Just to tell a few.

Eliminating the two party systems.

There are many reasons to protest, it is not political party based, rather a demonstration in the agreement that things are not right.
