All across the country people's 1st amendment rights are being flagrantly violated on bullshit excuses like silly little municipal curfew laws or not having a "permit" to peacefully assemble.
Just tonight I am watching occupy Chicago get evicted by the police, with a huge number of arrests. Last night Occupy Cincinatti was attacked, with dozens of arrests.
When people get arrested they are not always being released in a couple hours as they were in the mass arrests on the bridge in NYC (in almost all cases those people were still charged and had to/have to defend themselves in court though! I wonder if they jailed anyone?)
In both of the above most recent cases you may not even have heard the news. This has become so mundane it doesn't even get acknowledged on the blogs in many cases.
Yet there is no mention anywhere about the defenses in court and how they are going. Or attempts to sue the police for violating people's rights under the constitution.
Oh, thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n-rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Our government applauds and encourages other country's protesters, but stifles its own. Complete hypocrisy. The Bill of Rights are violated everyday by our government.
Unless they own a lawyer they won't be able to get much justice. It's not like OJ, or Casey or Paris where lawyers dance on strings for them. Just out of curiosity Fredone, do you know a lawyer of any kind?
Lawsuits take time... And if you have judges on the payroll you can postpone these court dates forever. No speedy trials
There are some lawsuits:
