Forum Post: WHY America loves the rich.

This content is user submitted and not an official statement

A corollary to http://occupywallst.org/forum/america-loves-the-rich/

This attitude is supported by and often created by deliberate, systematic, simplistic and sustained corporatist propaganda as explained here -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHU2AVcK5l8&feature=related

That such propaganda is often distorted or stitched together of provable falsehoods is irrelevant to its effectiveness. Consistency and repetition are the only keys.

Propaganda is not innately bad, though its uses often have been. It has also often been false, though the truth can be just as effective and perhaps more so.

So how is this countered?

Acts that further frighten an already frightened and insecure public will only distance that public. Counter propaganda that is truthful, carefully planned and presented, systematic and that stays “on message” can, over time, begin educating the public and gradually shift the paradigm.

This is what is most frightening to the corporatists. That America will wake from its slumber and that the veil will fall from its eyes. This is why on this forum and elsewhere, when serious attempts are made to move in this direction, the corporatist stooges will immediately introduce an off-topic, hot button issue into the discussion such as illegal aliens, abortion, etc., so that progressive forum participants will then chase that rabbit, wasting time and energy on rebutting the corporatist think-tank derived distractions, rather than focusing on the message. Focus on the message. Focus on the message. Focus on the message.

As far as the veil falling from the people's eyes...

The nihilistic part of me would actually like to see Romney win in November, just so things get so bad that the remaining registered republican kool-aid drinkers will finally have to wake up and see that the whole damn system is geared to fail them.

I don't think Obama's better. I just think the process will be more prolonged if he gets another 4 years.

A great many liberals will vote for Obama, knowing he's blown it, just because he isn't Romney.

Republican voters, by a seemingly vast majority, are still steadfast believers.

I would make a comment but it would distract from the message.

Thank you. My hope is that such ideas might assist in developing discussion concerning goals and methods.

Sharing awareness is always a good thing and a positive move forward.

Agreed.

One of the little mentioned but greatest modern weapons we grabbed from the Nazis, was Propaganda.

At play on this board by supposed "Loyal OWSers" advocating the futility of Voting, the hopelessness of our democracy, just give up and do nothing, sabotage!!
