Forum Post: Who is Ron Laul?

Posted 12 years ago on Nov. 23, 2011, 10:51 a.m. EST by zorno (386)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

Has anybody noticed that congress man Ron Lawl's name is often misspelled here? I first noticed this in my posts and then in those of other people as well. Has this site been programmed to systematically misspell his name?

You mean Ron.Paul? No, who is he? I hear a lot about Ron Lawl though.

Yes, OWS is automatically programmed to change it.

[-] 2 points by OurTimes2011 (377) from Arlington, VA 12 years ago

There is no need to reply to posts like these. We know why it is blocked, and we approve. Take you childish campaigning somewhere else. You would love to coopt this movement for your own selfish, childish, extremist purposes.

It won't happen. Get lost.

[-] 1 points by zorno (386) 12 years ago

I'm not a supporter of Ron Lawl, though I have discussed him with others on occasion.

[-] 2 points by PandoraK (1678) 12 years ago

I've posted this before...

There was a contingent of RP spammers, nearly every thread was a mini campaign for RP nearly every other reply in every thread not only mentioned RP but promoted RP.

OWS has stated in the rules of the forum that there is to be no political candidate endorsement or the appearance of such.

Spamming is rude, it can be irritating, it also can corrupt the purpose of a forum such as this.

Please don't be rude, then perhaps there will be no need for the automatic misspelling of any name.

[-] 2 points by TimMcGraw (50) 12 years ago

RonPaul is my second pick. But he probably won't make it because he's considered to be radical.

[-] 2 points by ProAntiState (43) 12 years ago

Ron Paul supports property rights. The owners of occupywallst.org make the rules on their property.

[-] 2 points by Payyourtaxesrichasses (19) from Brooklyn, NY 12 years ago

We don't wan Pon Lawl supports anywhere near us. They are discrediting our movement. They are not with OWS to they are against OWS so GTFO! These are PRIVATE FORUMS, so if you don't agree with us, go find a tea bagger site. We will not let OWS get highjacked! Our mods agree.

[-] 2 points by leftwingisrightwing (15) 12 years ago

so you wrote a bunch of words but there is no content. Teabagger ? really? People are also smart enough to recognize regurgitated propaganda lines from the mainstream media such as your comment about the tea party. Whether you know it or not you are serving the system by attempting to create dissent and distraction amongst those that are attempting real discourse.

The tea party movement started out as a real movement and was subverted by the republicans so as there could be no real danger to the system.. OWS started out as a real movement and is being subverted by the Democrats. if you don't get this you have already lost the battle. Luckily the posts on here wildly indicate that the people on this forum are smart enough to see through the attempt to steer OWS.

[-] -1 points by seeker (242) 12 years ago

The first polls showed that ending the war, ending the fed, legalising pot and investigating 911 were among the top 10 demands all of which are RonPaul policy's..He was also the one who most opposed the banker bail outs..

I know many occupiers are RonPaul supporters..so your comment is extremely detrimental to the occupy movement. As is the agenda to silence RonPaul supporters on this forum.

[-] 2 points by ScrewyL (809) 12 years ago

That has been my experience too.

If you ask the 99% directly, they all say they support RonPaul, but if you ask the 1% organizing these protests, websites, etc... They hiss and spit vile diatribes and demands that you leave like "payyourtaxesrichasses" above -- rather than answer the question.

Something is definitely fishy.

Oh, and to "payyourtaxesrichasses":

After you've had your total world revolution, stomped out capitalism and overthrown The Republic, question for you:

Who are you going to pay your taxes to?

[-] 2 points by Payyourtaxesrichasses (19) from Brooklyn, NY 12 years ago

Taxes? We will have no taxes! When people go to work, all your earned credits go directly to the government and you get an allowance in the form of rations, shelter, and safety. You get everything you need. You would never have to worry about missing a flu shot again. You get a bad tooth, your sugar rations go down. You will be one of us, resistances is futile!

[-] 0 points by ScrewyL (809) 12 years ago

I have never had a flu shot and I don't want one.

Besides, your name is "payyourtaxesrichasses".

Please explain the schism in your brain.

Or have I been Trolled? XD

[-] 1 points by leftwingisrightwing (15) 12 years ago

This forum was designed to control and steer OWS away from the Liberty movement. OWS is being steered away from R'o.n.P.a,u'l by this site because the powers that be are absolutely terrified that OWS supporters might actually realize that the good doctor's policies are exactly what OWS is all about. P.a,u.l scares the crap out of the government. P.a.u.l really wants to end ALL the wars unlike the President who fooled millions, including myself, into thinking he was anti war. P.a.u.l really wants to stop shipping all of our jobs over seas. P.a.u.l really wants to stop the bailouts (aka biggest theft in the history of the world) For the first time since JFK there is a candidate that wants to stop the fleecing of the US.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

He just wants to change who fleeces us.

[-] 1 points by JohnmcHD (16) from Chandler, AZ 12 years ago

Ronbawl is a joke that ain't even funny

[-] 1 points by badconduct (550) 12 years ago

It's censored because this whole movement is controlled by the mainstream media.

And the mainstream media censors RonPaul.

Is it just a correlation? CNN, MSNBC want to Occupy Fox News?

[-] 1 points by Jimboiam (812) 12 years ago

This is only about the 100th post about it. The mods don't want his name on here so they fixed it to be mispelled. Just type RonPaul as all one word and its fine.

[-] 2 points by ScrewyL (809) 12 years ago

That is NOT fine. It is childish, immature, counter productive, biased, and offensive.

[-] 2 points by nuclearradio (227) 12 years ago

Actually, it's awesome and hilarious.

[-] -1 points by ScrewyL (809) 12 years ago

THAT is called Trolling.

[-] 0 points by Jimboiam (812) 12 years ago

I agree, but if you can work around it by taking out a space, how bad can it be?

[-] -1 points by leftwingisrightwing (15) 12 years ago

his name is so terrifying to the global bankers that control this website that they will not allow it. This is what the destruction of free speech looks like. the fact that they will not allow his name should tell everyone something, Vote for him because the bankers don't want it!

[-] 1 points by Alexman8711 (23) from Brooklyn, NY 12 years ago

Global Bankers...controlling this website? ...

[-] -1 points by ScrewyL (809) 12 years ago

You can't work around it by taking out a space. That does nothing to correct the mindset which initiated and upholds the decision.

I will not stop demanding it be fixed, UNTIL it is fixed.

Occupy OCCUPY!!!!

[-] 1 points by Jimboiam (812) 12 years ago

ha funny. I am not an occupy supporter anyways. I think they are all childish sheep being lead around by anarchists and marxists. I just want the corruption to end in Washington.

[-] 1 points by TrevorMnemonic (5827) 12 years ago

I don't think that... but I agree with you about the corruption. Making the goal to end corruption is the key. I want to start a new movement in the spring here in my city, I am not in New York. It's specific goal will be to unite both sides, from left to right... in true unity they cannot stop us. LEFT AND RIGHT MUST UNITE.

We both agree corruption is the problem... on both sides.

I honestly believe all these problems in America happened due to the people's complacency. I am a firm believer in the constitution and what the declaration of independence stands for. I am not anti-corporation and anti-banks. I am, however, against corporations that abuse their power and are infiltrating our government. I am against the abuse of the monetary system that the federal reserve is responsible for. We have a debt based privatized monetary system that is not in the constitution. Look into Section 1 Article 8 of the constitution. The abuse of Wall Street, the federal reserve, and the government has caused our US dollar to decrease in value drastically over the past 14 years.

Some points I think this new movement should stand for:

Propose a bill to end the patriot act.

Propose a bill to end massive contributions from lobbyists, unions, and corporate influences. This has been tried before with what's known as "McCain-Feingold." The supreme court ruled McCain-Feingold unconstitutional. Obviously the supreme court is corrupt. They claimed that "McCain-Feingold" denied "free speech" even though 1: Money isn't free ...and 2: 100% of US citizens still would have had freedom of speech and the ability to contribute to campaigns. So how was the supreme court able to say it suppresses free speech? Another fact, a lot of corporations are owned through many investors. Sometimes these investors are foreigners. I didn't know foreigners in other countries were allowed to participate in our government through corporate contributions. The government is supposed to be governed by it's people. I feel like most members of the government have never read the constitution.

I'd say propose a bill to nationalize the federal reserve but that bill has already been created and is being reviewed by the Financial Institutions and Credit Committee. Look up The National Emergency Employment Defense Act of 2011. I'd like this new movement to support a similar piece of legislation, because thanks to the corrupt, I can already tell you that this bill will not pass.

All these rich people keep telling us that our country is in massive debt... all the while they keep making more money. These rich people are members of congress and the president.

"Both parties are rotten - how could they not be, given the complete infestation of the political system by corporate money on a scale that now requires a presidential candidate to raise upwards of a billion dollars to be competitive in the general election?"

What do you think?

[-] 0 points by mserfas (652) from Ashland, PA 12 years ago

I have to agree. Protesting the protest is good training for protesters, and teaches protesters sympathy for the protested. OWS and its web managers are not immune from error; if they want a society where errors are corrected, they'll have to learn to correct their own.

[-] -1 points by ScrewyL (809) 12 years ago

Precisely.

[-] 1 points by tr289 (916) from Chicago, IL 12 years ago

How about not typing or talking about Ron Lawl at all ? Libertarians are the constitutionalists, right ? Well this is what they have been asking for. Freedom ! Freedom for people to be able to block or discriminate against any one. Those that are discriminated against, well they will just go some where else... Isn't that how the Loony Libertarian argument goes ?

On a side note, Why don't the Libertarians take their own advice and go some where else ?

[-] 0 points by ScrewyL (809) 12 years ago

Totally agree. The liberals don't represent the majority by ANY stretch, and they should absolutely leave right now.

Begone, nobody in their right mind would give up their freedom for big government.

Similarly, the Socialists don't represent the majority either, so... BEGONE!

Nobody in their right mind would give up their property which is the only way to guarantee their own survival.

Not to mention, the Statists don't represent the majority, because everyone knows that you have the absolute right to self defense against tyrannical hierarchies SO BEGONE!

Nobody in their right mind would give their guns to a power-hungry conspiratorial elite hell-bent on world domination

Nope, it's obvious. OWS wants equality (constitutional conservatism), freedom (constitutional conservatism), opportunity (constitutional conservatism), justice (constitutional conservatism), transparency (constitutional conservatism), and accountability (constitutional conservatism)

Therefore, it is QUITE obvious: ONLY the Constitutional Conservatives have any business being here AT ALL.

SO, will all others please leave immediately?

Good. Now that that is out of the way, which presidential candidate do we know of who is a constitutional conservative? Anybody venture a guess?

FFS OWS! We're trying to help here.

BY THE WAY - "Conservatism" means conservative government. Small government. Aren't you angry about what the government has done and allowed? Why would you give those who have failed you MORE power?!

[-] 0 points by AuditElmerFudd (259) 12 years ago

Yes, Libertarians believe in the right to discriminate because then all people would know who you are and what you represent, which would likely result in a backlash by intelligent individuals. This site discriminates and it has been exposed... The system works.

[-] 0 points by tr289 (916) from Chicago, IL 12 years ago

There you go. This is exactly what Libertarians want... Now hopefully they will go away !!! lol

[-] 0 points by AuditElmerFudd (259) 12 years ago

What a bizarre, anti-freedom position to take.

[-] 2 points by tr289 (916) from Chicago, IL 12 years ago

How is that anti freedom ? That is freedom ! This is a private forum, the moderators can discriminate against any one they wish... This is a Libertarians wet dream ! Or maybe, Libertarians are hypocrites and want discrimination as long as they are not the ones getting discriminated against... I have a feeling it's the latter.

[-] 1 points by AuditElmerFudd (259) 12 years ago

No, I said you're free to discriminate, since it exposes you for the kind of person you are. Do you understand this?

[-] 0 points by mserfas (652) from Ashland, PA 12 years ago

You can use non-breaking space or Cyrillic (Character Map in Windows). See http://occupywallst.org/forum/why-is-this-website-mocking-rn-ul-by-changing-his-/ .

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

why bother?

[-] 1 points by mserfas (652) from Ashland, PA 12 years ago

I remember the days when AOL censored "breast cancer", so defeating automatic censorship schemes never seems like a completely worthless exercise. Also, showing people directly how easy it is to insert Cyrillic letters into words dilutes the special knowledge of scammers who insert them into URLs for purposes of fraud, though by now the Internet professionals have largely taken care of that problem anyway.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

RP works just as well.

[-] 0 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

Why use such a complicated way when you can simply write Ron Paul without any special characters?

[-] 1 points by JoeTheFarmer (2654) 12 years ago

Not everyone is using that character set.

The 99% are using CP-1252

[-] 0 points by mserfas (652) from Ashland, PA 12 years ago

Hmmm, before they were changing Ron Lawl as typed normally to "Ron Lawl" - I'm hoping they'll shut that off, let's see... nope, still coming out altered. To me your text looks like the straight ASCII that they alter, but that's true for text with non-breaking space in it - even, surprisingly, when copied out of the edit box.

Correction: I missed the two spaces there. (I typed it into http://a-no-ne.com/puter/ja/hiro_tools/unicode/char2val to analyze, which listed only one space)

[-] 0 points by Glaucon (296) 12 years ago

That's because your analyzing the message after it has been filtered and posted. What you should be doing is analyzing the source code of the site which is used to filter the message.

[-] 0 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

Why don't you just type two spaces between Ron and Paul and call it a day? What's up with the deep analysis?

[Removed]

[-] -1 points by nuclearradio (227) 12 years ago

Ron Lawl is the best! Ron Lawl is the only one who understands Austrian economics and the only candidate who has read the constitution! He can save us from the evil Barbara Streisand and Prince Charles, who are living under Epcot Center.

[-] -2 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

Just type Ron Paul and its finer.

[-] 3 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Why bother?

[-] -2 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

I'm just saying for those who want to talk about Ron Paul just write Ron Paul. I don't care about Ron Paul so I don't go around talking about him.

[-] 1 points by zorno (386) 12 years ago

Did you see that? In my first sentence, I made sure to spell it right, but there it is misspelled.

[-] 0 points by Thrasymaque (-2138) 12 years ago

Just write Ron Paul and everybody will understand.

[-] 0 points by GreedKills (1119) 12 years ago

Who is Ron Lawl??? He is a Republican that is holding steady at 6% across the nation for about 30 years now. We all know that is due to a conspiracy against Ron Lawl and Free-dum!!!!

He is censored here because he would take away the pig's trough that the socialist element of OWS has grown up feeding on and depends on. That makes him an "extremist" to extremely stupid people.
