This seems to be a sneaky way to bash Rick Perry. I’m a Texan, didn’t vote for Perry and think he’s a arrogant, condescending jerk.

However, he has done some good things for Texas. Kept taxes low, better jobs and economic conditions; and he is very pro-gun. I don’t like everything he does, but I give credit where credit is due. He’s probably the single most reason Texas isn’t drowning in debt and unemployment like so many other States.

better jobs ?!?!?! no
minimum wage jobs yes
Texas is not drowning because it has oil &
lots of federal money pouring into the state

I don’t have any figures, but Texas is one of the top destinations for people fleeing other in-debt states. Yes, better jobs; and more of them than just about any other place.

Rick Perry is very business friendly. He recruits employers to come to Texas. He has a “development fund” used to entice employers to come to Texas. Two weeks ago he went to California specifically to get companies to come to Texas. The Lt. Governor made a Internet add played specifically in New York state, saying “Come to Texas, lower your taxes, improve you living standard and keep your guns”

So, Yea, Perry is a perfect example of a power hungry politician. But he has done a lot for the people of Texas. That’s why he keeps getting elected even though everyone knows he’s an asshole.

OK, so you don’t like Texas. I understand now. Doesn’t change the fact it has one of the best standards of living than most other states.

Well, let's see.....Rick Perry is the Gov of Texas.

When did Texas "break the record for teen pregnancy"? I missed that story.

The latest info I can find shows New Mexico and Mississippi ahead of Texas in teen pregnancy numbers.

Did those two states also cut planned parenthood funding by 2/3? Do those two states stress abstinence only in schools?

Many states do not require sex education at all, and many of those states have lower teen pregnancy rates. See:

So what is your point here?

FROM NBC News... Suck on this eric. and by the way we are GLAD he cut funding for the baby killers at planned parenthood

The Lone Star State makes a triumphant return as America’s Top State for Business—its third time at the top of our rankings.

"Listen, there is a reason that Caterpillar moved their hydraulics manufacturing and their engine manufacturing to the state of Texas," said Gov. Rick Perry in November during the CNBC Republicanpresidential debate.

1 Top State for Business: Texas

The top American state for business is Texas. The Lone Star State finished 2nd last year and, this year, is the top state, including a ranking of number 1 for infrastructure and number 2 for technology. With Texas Governor Rick Perry (R). We can attest to that.

In our sixth annual study, Texas racked up an impressive 1,604 points out of a possible 2,500, with top-10 finishes in six of our 10 categories of competitiveness. Texas has never finished below second place since we began the study in 2007.

Cause business knows that repubs in charge of Texas don't care if they pollute the air, water, land and encourage exploiting the people of Texas with low wage, dangerous jobs?
