Forum Post: Wheres the Entertainment Icons?

I'm curious as to why all these people in the entertainment business who've made millions off the idea of this movement haven't shown up to give more support. Rage against the machine made a video occupying wall street years ago, and they're no where to be seen? Where are all these people? Why aren't the showing up by the truck load to support this? Don't you think with these people making appearances and strongly voicing out support in the media would help greatly? Or have they been and i'm just not seeing it?

Celebrities have made a HUGE impact on the development of American culture, no?

They should be saying something! Standing up for us! Showing SOME kind of support! Why aren't they? BECAUSE THEY ARE THE 1%!

Celebrities.... ugh please I think we can do better without.

I agree! They are part of the 1% ($20 mil. a movie) Please what do they know.

I just think it's important for celebrities to show their support since they influence so much of America's youth!

I'm surprised those Hollywood commies aren't all over this thing. They must be busy plotting something.

They're literally in hiding... their bosses probably threatened to ruin their reps if they said anything.

All these goddamn Hollywood people are TOO COWARDICE to actually stand up for us! I've only seen a small number of famous actors and musicians spout their opinions and support for OWS. I used to be a huge Lady Gaga fan, until I messaged her a million times through FB and Twitter to get her to come show her support. OF COURSE she didn't respond! She's a fucking PUPPET! She's a joke and all that she stands for is a complete lie! They are too scared to lose their jobs, just like everyone else! Don't worry.. they'll come out of hiding when shit "gets bad" for them.

The revolution will not be televised. I wouldn't count on Brad Pitt sticking his neck out for the protesters unless there's an angle. Obama, on the other hand, may be able to weasel his way into this discussion and make it about his reelection.

Yes it will be. The official version is on Fox News. The most trusted name.

I'm talking more along the lines of musicians and artists than actors, but even including actors, theres so many of them who preach this message but now it's time to put their money where their mouth is no one is anywhere to be seen

Luckily, Bruce Springstien sold out the rights to "Born in the USA" in order to keep those filthy unAmerican hipster doofus protesters from co-opting it for their attempted commie coup

This is because it is not an election year and nobody is paying the Hollywood stars to show up

[-] 1 points by distortion (196) 12 years ago

and i guess thats what am i asking people, is this really the case? cause it certainly seems like

[-] 1 points by revg33k (429) from Woodstock, IL 12 years ago

Remember right before W's 2nd term all these stars said they would move out of the country if he got a 2nd term.... guess where they still live.

Its all bought publicity.

[-] 1 points by distortion (196) 12 years ago

that pisses me off... all these bands and all these actors... nothing but one big publicity stunt... and anyone of them has the following to real turn the tides for this movement, F THEM! i no longer feel bad about pirating all my music

It's not close enough to election time and the movement is not yet fully in the Democrat bag. Once the movement has been fully co-opted by the Dems, then you will see Hollywood come out in full support. I say give it another month or two.
