There is no illusion about the reality of two parties in existence in America, the haves and the have nots.
Bush called it the haves and the have mores, because that was the focus of the groups he represented. The other main group says it represents the have nots. What we need in this country is a group representing everyone, so that there are no more have nots, and there is at least food, shelter, clothing, and basic essential services (health care) for all. Those who are successful beyond that level should be able to aspire to achieve whatever they can.
I don't think it matters what Obama's lineage is, (other than the requirement of being born in the USA to serve in political office), and we have basically put that issue to rest, even though we all agree that birth certificate had issues that were not satisfactorily resolved.
The people have moved on; he's been there, doing his job, so let's just let it go. If it was going to be something to prevent him from getting the job, they should have raised the ruckus before he moved into the White House. He's doing his job, he's handsome and affable, so let's keep the peace.

Actually I voted for John McCain. I liked McCain and Obama but I did not like Obama's foreign policy views. I was against escalation of troops in Afghanistan and using drones in Pakistan, and I remember Hillary and her great line when asked if she would notify Pakistan in advance if we were going to send drone strikes into that country, and she said 'well I'd let them know when they were in the air'. I though McCain's approach was more appropriate, it called for restraint and he wanted to let the in intel people handle looking for people, not using drones which have a high degee of killing civilians.

And Michelles' beauty has broken a million hearts, why mine starts hurting and I cry a little each time I see her face myself, and shiver a little. and there is that retch sound that comes from my stomach but I'm sure it is all part of Love.
