When was The Last Great Conservative Contribution to Society after Hitler?

Seriously, Cons have done nothing but drag the country down so they can kill it in a bath tub.

Swell, then line up so we can execute you, traitors.

You bitch about others trying to improve things, but what have YOU done??

Conservatives don't believe in society (Britain's Reagan, Margaret Thatcher, famously declared: "There's no such thing as society!"), they only believe in Darwinian markets ("...red in tooth and claw"), & Darwinian individual greed & selfishness - which is ironic, of course, 'cos they abhor Darwin's scientific refutation of the Biblical Creation myth.

Boy, this sure is off center, a bit lacking in intellectual stimuli for those who can see the big picture. Also overtly and highly infested with negative double entente' to say the least!

Hey Jeffy, before it get's out of hand, "you know who was Hitler? Hitler was Hitler." J. Stewart.

Point taken. But let's not forget whom we're dealing with.

The Ed Show - Rick Santorum compares President Obama to Hitler? ed.msnbc.msn.com/_.../10459393-rick-santorum-compares-president... 15 hours ago – A day after saying President Barack Obama's agenda is about a "phony theology, not a theology based on the Bible," appearing to question the ...

And let's never EVER again go down the polite road like so many ill-fated Dems have gone before and end up like Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Kerry, etc.

Maxine Waters: Republicans are “demons” out to “destroy our country” She's right. They are also monsters, the undead kind.

You make a good point. I do know what you mean about the dems, Al Franken got close, but I spent half hour face to face with his producer, had him nooding his head and excited, but never heard a word about how the 15% tax rate didn't get cut in 2001, despite what everyone said. Here's an example of my gentler side:

more reffering to the first part, I like the R leaders on their knees begging for largness from the "job creators" he just called me a lair, then tried to bury it in a bunch of meaningless carp, I can save you a lot of time sorry about that should of warned you, from the theard:

"No you didn't, you just called me a lair for doing so, now you can prove your point or shut up.

I think the problem here is that as a conservative you just expect to lie and not have anyone call you on it. Of course your favorite way to lie is to call someone telling the truth a lair, then give a bunch of irrelevant facts and hope no one notices.

The other thing you guys like to do is call someone a lair, then start telling a bunch of lies to prove that everyone lies.

This conservative twisting of what someone said so they can call them a lair, was brought up in the news when a DA twisted a defendant’s testimony to convict them of perjury, sort of the new drop some coke in their bag deal I guess. I guess the DA had seen right wingers do it so much they thought it was cool."

I try not to use the word "you" when I post

it might inflame tempers

Oh, YOU! You rock, Matt. You made a post showing me how to make a word link. That was cool and I appreciate it.

I agree. At times this is more akin to performance art than life, in life I strive each day to not judge, at times this becomes about presentation, I am a fan of many types of music, one day I came upon a symphony rehearsing in the mountains, it was beautiful, but would not have been heard at the DeadHead show I had been to at around the same time. Point being, when one finds oneself in the middle of the battlefield, you use the weapons at hand. I meet reason with reason, lies with exposure, sometimes that means “shouting” or at least laughing. It has always been so, I have always wish it weren’t, but I have seen reason fall victim to simplicity, i care about this country and I think reason should be heard.

the term you are looking for is spin doctoring. If you can't answer allegations, you just sit and spin and the more crap you throw out while spinning the less anyone wants to get close to you because they might get hit with sh*t.

Ending the Cold War? Do you know what that was?

[-] 3 points by ARod1993 (2420) 12 years ago

Reagan didn't end the Cold War. His continuation of a fairly aggressive arms race that had its roots all the way back in the days of Eisenhower and Kennedy was one of many factors (including their war in Afghanistan) that eventually pushed Soviet Russia past the point where it was capable of sustaining itself. His policy was expensive as hell, but it did what it was designed to do and we owe him that much recognition. That said, "Reagan ended the Cold War" is a gross oversimplification bordering on an outright lie.

Did Reagan ever thank Jimmy Cater for that? After all we all just know that the whole boom of the 90's had nothing to do with Clinton and everything to do with Reagan, right? You guys kill me, picking and choosing your beliefs to fit the moment.
