Interesting. I wonder why francismjenkins post has been deleted.

Perhaps she deleted it herself? Did it tie the repelican party too closely to Occupy for their own good?

I must admit an intense curiosity . . .

Well the comment ( missing ) shows as deleted - and that only happens as far as I know - when the author of the comment deletes it.

there is the issue of the deleted comment, yes

and then there is the issue of the deleted post itself - both by the same author.

Maybe F thought it better to pull the post after your 1st comment. You do have that ability to hit bulls-eyes.

sometimes I hit way wide of the mark - it happens.

both of you, as I recall, francismjenkins and hchc are repelicans - perhaps of the libertarian stripe, but repelicans non the less . . .

It seems to me you have been largely successful - you have provided no end of positive reinforcement for the dilution of support among young voters, and on the whole, looking at OWS, that seems to have been very successful.

But make no mistake - OWS hasn't gone that far away. The public outrage this movement connected with still exists. Repelican policies and priorities remains the source of much of that outrage.

And Global Warming remains right out in the parking lot.

PS- OccTampa isnt even participating in the event zone at the RNC with you partisan hacks.

You belong in an Obama campaign office if you believe in this shit so strongly. That being said, why the hell are NOT campaigning for him?

I dont agree with it, but any activism is better than none.

I have occasionally volunteered for the reelection campaign - and I will again. I'm not ashamed of it, regardless of how unpopular such a position is with OWS.

Unlike you, it is not my intent to hijack the movement. I present my opinion, I stand by that opinion, and others may do as they like.

I have to say I appreciate your honesty with that. I helped get him elected in 08, but I am not doing it again.

Even though I dont agree with you, I appreciate your decision to get involved. If everyone had that level of awareness, we would not be in this position.

I'm not all that great at public speaking, but thanks.

Was I cast out of OccBurlington?

I don't recall that . . .

Good Post. A few of my thoughts on this:

  • The no demands thing. That really turned a lot of very motivated people off. The list of grievances was a good start, but it was only a complaint list.

  • The overwhelming focus on taking parks. What a total disaster taht turned into. It dominated every GA. Where WE would sleep at night became more important than the people we were protesting for. I personally have no desire to go back to sleeping in strange places.

  • The over planning of everything. "STuck in Dogma" as you called it. Once about November came, and it was all in fighting and decision making instead of raw actions, many left.

Sometimes it seems as if it was set up to purposely go down the road it went.
