Forum Post: What is the meaning of it all???

I've been watching the tv and reading all I can about it, watching all the videos through youtube and whatnot. I hear an infinite number of beliefs, some being great, intelligent concerns and grievances. Others being angry and sometimes senseless. What are OCW's goals or hopes??? What is the centralized goal here?

As you can see, there are a lot of different ideas out there. Wouldn't it be nice if someone had a survey that aggregated some of those opinions into a short list of demands that most of our shared?

Done. https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/JWPJM3N

You should go down to your local Occupy __ and find out for yourself, just hang out for a couple hours, all other media sources will be biased.

They are peaceful protests and you have every legal right to be around them during the day, so take to the street and find out, rather than have us sit here and preach at you.

I want a just society and a government I can believe in. Of, by, and for the people would be a start.

i'm down for that, good luck, i think politicians that started as lawyers are mostly going where the money is, left or right, we need some businessmen in the white house that want to downsize gov. control and spending, we're bankrupt as a country. the first few presidents worked part time and i don't know if they even got paid. now the pres. makes over 100,000 a year for LIFE

Well, here's where we part ways.

I don't want bigger government or more control than necessary, but I don't think the deficit is the issue at this point economically - it's the lack of aggregate demand - and I don't think regulations are the issue w/r to corruption - it's deregulation and lack of regulation.

I don't have a strong opinion on Presidential pay. :)

We should certainly have a sound fiscal policy that involves making debt repayment the top priority (rather than tax cuts, for example) once we're through the bust phase of the current cycle.

More than any of this, I think the problems I'm concerned with are all rooted directly in our campaign finance system that causes some people (and corporations of all things) to be far more equal than others.

ok, so to economy in the u.s., would you agree that if individuals bought american and companies worked americans instead of outsourcing to foreign countries, that alone would help a good bit?

[-] 1 points by an0n (764) 12 years ago

Yes, it would. Tough to do without bumping up against the fundamentalist neoliberal free-traders and being called a protectionist. We're the only major trading nation without a coherent strategy to benefit our workers on trade deals. We just unilaterally lower trade barriers in almost every case, and the other side never does.

Protecting our future as individuals and as a nation seems important. If that is being a protectionist then GO PROTECTIONISM!!! Isn't that what we need? What would the alternative be? Neglectionism? That seems to be the leading trend these days in big business and federal politics, neglect of the individual's and nations welfare and financial situation.

Many more people will come to your side when you are proactive (for “new” Business & Government solutions), instead of reactive (against “old” Business & Government solutions), which is why what we most immediately need is a comprehensive “new” strategy that implements all our various socioeconomic demands at the same time, regardless of party, and although I'm all in favor of taking down today's ineffective and inefficient Top 10% Management System of Business & Government, there's only one way to do it – by fighting bankers as bankers ourselves; that is, using a Focused Direct Democracy organized according to our current Occupations & Generations. Consequently, I have posted a 1-page Summary of the Strategically Weighted Policies, Organizational Operating Structures, and Tactical Investment Procedures necessary to do this at:

because we need 100,000 “support clicks” at AmericansElect.org to support a Presidential Candidate -- such as any given political opportunist you'd like to draft -- in support of the above bank-focused platform.

Most importantly, remember, as cited in the first link, that as Bank Owner-Voters in your 1 of 48 "new" Business Investment Groups (or "new" Congressional Committees) you become the "new" Congress replacing the "old" Congress according to your current Occupation & Generation, called a Focused Direct Democracy.

Therefore, any Candidate (or Leader) therein, regardless of party, is a straw man, a puppet; it's the STRATEGY – the sequence of steps – that the people organize themselves under, in Military Internet Formation of their Individual Purchasing & Group Investment Power, that's important. In this, sequence is key.

Why? Because there are Natural Social Laws – in mathematical sequence – that are just like Natural Physical Laws, such as the Law of Gravity. You must follow those Natural Social Laws or the result will be Injustice, War, etc.

The FIRST step in Natural Social Law is to CONTROL the Banks as Bank Owner-Voters. If you do not, you will inevitably be UNJUSTLY EXPLOITED by the Top 10% Management Group of Business & Government who have a Legitimate Profit Motive, just like you, to do so.

Consequently, you have no choice but to become Candidates (or Leaders) yourselves as Bank Owner-Voters according to your current Occupation & Generation.

So please JOIN the 2nd link so we can make our support clicks at AmericansElect.org when called for, at exactly the right time, by an e-mail from that group, in support of the above the bank-focused platform. If so, then you will see and feel how your goals can be accomplished within the above strategy as a “new” Candidate (or Leader) of your current Occupation & Generation.

go to "the99%declaration" and it should clarify some of it for you. It's not the final word, essentially the first draft of ideas.

ok, i get that, what else?
