Someone with vision and understanding... Thank Democracy and free speech! I am a hanger-on, so-to-speak. My spirit and passion is with OWS, but being a father and breadwinner for my family, I cannot march.. at this time. So, I offer insight and focus. We need to move on to a bigger stage. We need to get to the source of the problem, namely Washington D.C. and the ineptitude therein. W/o their faulty leadership, many of the events of the financial meltdown would never have happened. We ought to have a peaceful million American March on the Washington D.C. area. A million angry Americans chanting for the Government to change or we will exercise our inalienable rights and change it for them, will be a powerful message across to those that think they are snug and safe in our Capitol.
Wall Street is NOT the center of the problem, our politicians and their short-sightedness IS. Wall Street is manned by tens of thousands of individuals that are just like you, except that they work where the problems seemed to stem from. They aren't the problem; Wall Street and the rest of this country takes their cues from Washington. What happens if someone makes a mistake? An intern takes the fall... or even a military officer (Ollie North). What happened with the Wall Street CEO's and Head bankers? They claimed innocence and let the little guys, just like you and me, take the blame. Bernie Madoff and the half dozen others that have been incarcerated or tried in court are less than that one tenth of one percentage of the fraudulent individuals that are still out there. This movement is not about venting, it is about changing a broken system. We can rail against Wall Street, but we are missing the puppeteers in the background.

ANY and ALL revolutions of changes that became great, have started with non-violence. The establishment has been the one that started 'cracking-down' and thus increased sympathies, thus spreading any movement. We risk trivializing our message by inciting violence. We are the people. We are the government of this country. Why do violence against ourselves? Our assets? Our employees? If they do a horrible job, fire them. No violence is needed.

Yea it is true if you will make violence...goverment make from you terrorist. Go and make concerts ask singers for support.

“For any public company, only real person shareholders, selected by a pure lottery of shares owned, may nominate directors.” Control is returned to the people, not Wall Street nor Congress.

Today, CEO's nominate cronies as directors who give out out-sized salaries, bonuses and take risks with our money. If two candidates were nominated by real people for each director slot there would be board quality, caution with our own money and much less need for government oversight and influence.

A subtle but implication-rich OWS Goal?

In a real sense, the people - as hard to consider as it may seem - have brought about some of this in that we elected many of the fools that run our country by listening to their promises of security and prosperity for all. We are that people. We elected those people to office and we have allowed them to run roughshod over us for years. What do they expect? They expect that they can do what they so desire and decide is in our own best interests and they only have to wait till the next election, where they can bamboozle us again with empty campaign promises to, hopefully, be allowed back into office. We have a right to change the system if it does not work - is as many words Abraham Lincoln so said. We have a right to protest. We are allowed to vote change, but those very individuals that have been elected are seeking to change the very voting laws for their own benefit. The average American has 'let the system work'. They have forgotten, WE are the system.

At the rate this country is changing, saged - you will either have to be either very well-off or rich to get that meal... or be poor and on welfare to get that dinner.
