Ben Shalom Brenanke taxed you more in the past few years than any single politician ever will.

[-] 1 points by aries (463) from Nutley, NJ 12 years ago

agreed - I dont know where the "shalom" comes from though.

Camp Ramah (Hebrew: מחנה רמה‎ Machaneh Ramah) is a network of Jewish summer camps affiliated with the Conservative Movement.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8] The camps operate in the United States, Canada, and Israel. Ramah camps serve kosher food and are Shabbat-observant.[9]

Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve[31]

Truth be told, Bernanke doesn't creep me out as much as Greedspan, but I'm really sick and tired of having Israeli-first Zionist running my country.

[-] 1 points by GreedKilIs (29) 12 years ago

You're banned. Good bye.

[-] 1 points by valfather (286) 12 years ago

Babyface Brenanke is dangerous in his actions, regardless of national loyalty. I didn't intend to suggest that he should be measured completely by his affinity to Zionist Israel. He should be measured, first and foremost, by his actions as Fed Chairman, and there is more than enough there to denounce him. These zillion dollar bailouts are insane!

I'll try to find Spitzer's critique of this.

I said you were banned, stop posting or I'll show you some keyboard karate and your mommy will be sorry.

Babyface Bernanke is you hero?

I'm tri-polar and my welfare has run out. I swear I'm going to flip whoppers and scratch up enough coin to get more.

There are people who actually do need help. Unfortunately the system is often abused. Often people who actually do need help aren't able to focus their efforts sufficiently to get the help, while those who want to game the system are able to follow through on the paperwork.

What do you call it when Reagan takes someone else's money (the 99%) in taxes and gave it to someone who is more likely to vote for him (the 1%)??

[-] 0 points by aries (463) from Nutley, NJ 12 years ago

So Reagan is the only one who did this? God bless his soul. No other president promised to take from one group & give to another? What do you think is happening now lol! I guess it's ok if you are the beneficiary lol!

[-] 2 points by TLydon007 (1278) 12 years ago

Who said "Reagan is the only one who did this"??

Not me.

That's just a desperate straw man you constructed out of frustration you felt while reading my post.

" I guess it's ok if you are the beneficiary lol!"

I'm willing to see my taxes increase rather than live in a society of permanent classes that leaves no incentive at all to work hard for those in any class.

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

Those who are the real winners are the ones that realize these politicians are all screwing us, and just try to stay one step ahead of them.

[-] 0 points by aries (463) from Nutley, NJ 12 years ago

who brought up Reagan as the problem TLydon007 ? joke argument

[-] 2 points by TLydon007 (1278) 12 years ago

"who brought up Reagan as the problem"

Seems you did.

I'm just asking what you'd call a massive redistribution of wealth from the 99% to the top 1%? That's what he did. Don't get angry with me for laying down the facts.

[-] 1 points by aries (463) from Nutley, NJ 12 years ago

from your original post : "What do you call it when Reagan takes someone else's money (the 99%) in taxes and gave it to someone who is more likely to vote for him (the 1%)??"

[-] 1 points by TLydon007 (1278) 12 years ago

When did I say it was a problem??

I asked what you would call it...

Are you offended that I brought up a historical fact that you'd rather ignore?? If so, I apologize that you're so ashamed of your own convictions.

Perhaps one day you can believe in something that you don't feel so ashamed of??

Glad you learned what distinguished the two parties from one another. What is your point?

[-] 1 points by JadedCitizen (4277) 12 years ago

What do you call it when people put country first and pay their fair share? Patriotism.

[-] 1 points by aries (463) from Nutley, NJ 12 years ago

here we go again - define fair share?

[-] 1 points by JadedCitizen (4277) 12 years ago

There is no absolute definition. What kind of silly question is that?

[-] 1 points by aries (463) from Nutley, NJ 12 years ago

exactly - so what are ou talking about?

[-] 1 points by JadedCitizen (4277) 12 years ago

The ethos of patriots putting country first - what r u talkin' bout?

[-] 1 points by aries (463) from Nutley, NJ 12 years ago

yea ok - it's always the other guy who is greedy.. what have you done that is so patriotic?

[-] 2 points by JadedCitizen (4277) 12 years ago

I pay more taxes than a millionaire. how's that for a start.

[-] 1 points by aries (463) from Nutley, NJ 12 years ago

it's just not true thats all

[-] 1 points by JadedCitizen (4277) 12 years ago

check the story about the 200 millionaires going to congress demanding their taxes be raised. you can accept whatever truth you like.

[-] 1 points by aries (463) from Nutley, NJ 12 years ago

they dont have to go to congress they can not take deductions, or write a check if they want. nothing says they cant pay more to the government if they want to. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703849204576303040425833126.html

[-] 1 points by JadedCitizen (4277) 12 years ago

you miss my point entirely, I feel there is nothing that will make you understand my point of view.

[-] 1 points by aries (463) from Nutley, NJ 12 years ago

yea - because you make no sense lol! happy new year !

[-] 1 points by JadedCitizen (4277) 12 years ago

I make perfect sense to a great number of people I have known, many tell me I am very wise. I think you just don't want to make an effort to hear me.

[-] 1 points by aries (463) from Nutley, NJ 12 years ago

hahaha! well I am sure the people to whom you make sense are of the same pretzel logic as you so that does make perfect sense lol! Happy New Year !!! : )

[-] 1 points by JadedCitizen (4277) 12 years ago

You make my point even clearer. You didn't come here to listen, you came here to denounce any point of view that doesn't conform to your sensibilities. That is sad and narrow-minded on your part.

[-] -1 points by RobinHood2012 (39) 12 years ago

No you don't. Don't show your ass!

Still haven't figured out percentages, eh?

[-] 0 points by RobinHood2012 (39) 12 years ago

I know money. Show me how jadedprick paid more in taxes than a millionaire. Even jadedprick knows when to run and hide!

[-] 1 points by JadedCitizen1 (6) 12 years ago

I know enough not to argue with a dumb ass. It's a complete waste of time.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

Percentages.

It's not that hard to figure out.

His percentage is higher. Plus he doesn't get the free lunches. We pay for them instead..

[-] 1 points by JadedCitizen (4277) 12 years ago

If I throw a stick, will you leave?

[-] 1 points by RobinHood2012 (39) 12 years ago

Prove your not a dumbass and tell me how you pay more money. It's that simple.

[-] 0 points by RobinHood2012 (39) 12 years ago

That's why your losers and you'll never be millionaires....your dumbasses.

[-] 1 points by ScrewyL (809) 12 years ago

I call both "theft" -- only a confused mind makes the distinction.

Yes, I know that is your point; but through sarcasm you missed the mark.

[-] 1 points by freewriterguy (882) 12 years ago

lets not forget that banks still exist today, (at our bailout expense) who took 10% portions of our homes gambled with 2nd mortgages that were hidden to us, and should be illegal, called (cdo's) formed by CITIBANK, (this is why their stock fell to 1 dollar in 2008) and then got bailed out. Banks shouldnt have gotten bailed out thru those closed door meetings in congress oversite commitees called by execs from... (forgot their names) If we would have let those banks fail, then the true dark works they were up to would be evident to us today, but instead another brainwashing is in effect.

[-] 1 points by hchc (3297) from Tampa, FL 12 years ago

Investment banks and commercial banks need to be seperated. It aleviates all of the problems.

[-] 1 points by aries (463) from Nutley, NJ 12 years ago

why did those so called "fraudulent" negotiable instruments default? Not so fraudulent because they are still being used, nothing illegal. You may not like it but credit default swaps are perfectly legal.

[-] 2 points by shadz66 (19985) 12 years ago

Please Do NOT confuse "legal" with ... 'Bona Fide' ; Ethical ; Fair ; Moral or Reasonable and do NOT confuse "perfectly" WiTH "Technically" !!!

another tower of babble

[-] 1 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

you may not like it but it is true.

when we have data mining and demographic tools designed to analyze a given community to determine how much a specific demographic can pay for a service - or energy, like gasoline - and where such tools are used - as they have been in California - the consequence is that significant portion of the economy as a whole become siphoned off into a very select number of bank accounts, rather than circulating.

It is no longer capitalism, but rather monopolism.

once upon a time we had created laws to prevent this kind of thing.

chaos is coming

shit head

[-] -1 points by focus01 (21) from Queens, NY 12 years ago

what is your solution?

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

understand the nature of the social discontent that is growing and address it in concrete and specific ways -

level the playing field - we can either do that figuratively, by instituting legislative measures that translate into access to legal redress in a timely manner when property owners have their wells poisoned, or their loans foreclosed on within an environment of widespread fraud - these are only two issues -

then there is the conduct of politics in the country today - the practice of the Art of War on Capitol Hill - campaign finance reform is one measure that will address a portion of that process that is completely broken.

We can institute practical measures that bring a greater measure of fairness to the public as a whole -

or the playing field will be leveled by the public.

We are Americans after all. That state of conditioned helplessness is not one that is natural to us, we are right now like a moth, emerging from a cocoon.

I have a list if you like - it is only partial:

  • No downsizing the Postal Service

  • No KeyStone Pipeline

  • two step approach to the issue of national debt:

    • short term: end bushite tax breaks and corporate welfare

      • long term: restructure / simplify the tax code so that it is competitive for businesses to do business and keep their money here; and pays down the debt, and keeps social security solvent
  • end debate over entitlements I'm sick of hearing about it as if it were dirty. Forget privatization of social security and just shoot the next bastard who suggests otherwise [speaking for myself of course.]

  • public health care - forget the option part.

  • We need an energy policy uninfluenced by fossil fuel industry, one that takes into account the fact of global warming, and institutes a NASA like approach to solving both our need for energy and the need to reduce atmospheric carbon

  • No to internet censorship in any form

  • If they engaged in fraud - they see the judge, and the sentencing better be in line with the crime, and had better include serious restitution

  • End the foreclosures.

  • End the philosophy of a deregulated economic system - from the Universities to the policy makers

  • End corporate personhood

  • campaign finance reform - Sanders Amendment:

  • end the two party political system

  • quit fucking around with the issue of terrorism - it's a crime, unless you happen to catch them on an actual battlefield - and if it is a crime, treat them in accordance with our criminal laws. No more indefinite detention

  • Close Gitmo - we've got large pens practically empty in the mid west. I'm sure they can handle it. Stop fucking around.

  • Amended: I would like to see energy production, telecommunications, and the economic infrastructure, all secured in public, rather than private, hands.

  • Amended: we need to provide stiff and compelling sanction to corporations that engage in disinformation - as with the tobacco industry before and the fossil fuel industry now [and for the past 10-20 years]

[-] -1 points by focus01 (21) from Queens, NY 12 years ago

tower of babble - you have too much time on your hands.

[-] 2 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

I just barely posted that.

Is that what you really think?

Or are you a computer generated script?

In any case, I believe the answers here are indeed, out of our hands. The only question before each of us, is

  • what will we do as individuals in the face of such extremity?
[-] 0 points by focus01 (21) from Queens, NY 12 years ago

as we've always done - adapt. what do you suggest? specifically.

[-] 1 points by gsw (3410) from Woodbridge Township, NJ 12 years ago

here are a few to start...skip down to the content http://www.the99declaration.org/

[-] 0 points by focus01 (21) from Queens, NY 12 years ago

sounds great. so why are you occupying the 1% then? You should be occupying congress & giving them a heads up lol!

[-] 1 points by gsw (3410) from Woodbridge Township, NJ 12 years ago

short answer... this is like addictive...I was actually occupying my old computer, to get news, on what was happening in my state capital one day on the budget, and I took some online poll, do I align with ows beliefs, I answered affirmative, but was not actually sure besides seeing them on the news marching on a bridge, or getting pepper sprayed, what it was, so I wound up discussing ows right to exist, and the came to this site to see what is their purpose and cause, to be an educated voter, is is my personal responsiblility. and it's a bit entertaining and informative to see people's opinions and evidence. some of what ows is about, in my opinion is a reflection of the issues surrounding our current time historically, socially and economically in 2011. but it is hard to pin down ows on actual issues.. I really didn't know what they're about. As i didn't know what they were about, but I like politics,history,...I want to be open to an exploration of the philosophical issues with similar and differing views, in the process of getting informed, in the spirit of democracy. and its kind of addictive, sorry to say, Too, I think there is a huge wealth divide, and when it is increasing, it is not sustainable and hurts everyone. Henry Ford wanted his workers to be able to afford his product. Neither political party can compromise and get their job done--reducing the debt, yes, too, I think when student loan debt is a $trillion and the economy has not enough jobs, thats a failure. I don't like to fail. personally i think ows should go to dc more, and inform congress of this. the only reason i see as they have not, is they are still processing the answer that meets the problem, which ideas may be in the above. you have a good point. think i'll mail my congressmen this 99 document proposal. some of us kind of get it by writing about it, and seeing similar and dissimilar viewpoints. that's maybe how i learn and process information.. others, they may be visual, and need to see or participate in a ows, or those who feel disenfranchised, they need support to, cause that is a human need, and I don't want anyone getting more alienated than necessary.

[-] 0 points by focus01 (21) from Queens, NY 12 years ago

Geez - this is the short answer lol!

[-] 0 points by ZenDogTroll (13032) from South Burlington, VT 12 years ago

I was specific.

Social stability is requisite to doing business, to owning property, fostering social stability is a proper function of government.

You can get behind that,

or off yourself.

the choice is entirely up to you.

[-] 0 points by focus01 (21) from Queens, NY 12 years ago

That is correct. However - the only ones I see trying to "destabalise" society is OWS LOL!
