The executive director of Food and Water Watch has a new book out, and is doing a tour speaking of the problems with genetically engineered food. Extremely informative and extremely important.

She goes into the deregulation of the food industry in the mid 1900's, how it allowed for consolidation, and how that consolidation is now in fast forward.

For instance, from 1995-2005 the amount of pork that was farmed in factories went from 30% to 90%.

She stated that Clinton put the final few nails in the coffin for deregulation, how Bush got ge foods the go ahead, and how Obama has approved so many of them it makes her head spin.

When the topic of solutions came up, it led to a road that is very familiar to occupy... Local. Things need to be localized again.

Support your local farms. Support your neighbors, share the costs if its too much initially.
Support your local neighborhood by educating and getting active.

This entire thing with the food and the water (a guy there with some very interesting info on the flouride issue) is disgusting. Its kind of like "You can fuck with my money, you can fuck with my rights, and you can fuck with my job, but can I at least eat a healthy fuckin meal after getting fucked three ways sideways!!"

She is on her way up to Pennsylvania today, and will continue the tour our in California I believe afterwards -attention Occupy Oakland!!

And if anyone would like to get involved, there is a chapter in just about every city in the country ( http://www.foodandwaterwatch.org/take-action/#__utma=17653163.1743080009.1365514788.1365514788.1365514788.1&__utmb=17653163.1.10.1365514788&__utmc=17653163&__utmx=-&__utmz=17653163.1365514788.1.1.utmcsr=foodopoly.org|utmccn=(referral)|utmcmd=referral|utmcct=/about-food-water-watch/&utmv=-&utmk=255042760) and VOLUNTEERS ARE SCARCE, as they are with most things like this. Check em out, call em up, get it going. This cause can be tied into many other things as well, so there are plenty of opportunities for joint promos, actions and events.

And like everything else, if you contact and no one gets back to you, take the initiative and get it going yourself. Its all starts with one person putting it in action. The spread of occupy was attributed to social media, but more so individuals in each community deciding they were going to start their own Occupy (insert city/cause).

Each one teach one.

Signed. Like Bush admin exempting Fracking from regulation of the Clean Water Act.
