We need a free online university. Most university systems offer these programs for profit at just 40 to 80 million to build. Why can't the taxpayers use 150 million out of the 945 billion we spend each year, to make a free online university for all!! Controlling our access to education access is how the 1% has secured the best paying jobs and continues to cement their status across generations at a great costs to the poor. This is not equal opportunity! We all must be allowed the best access possible... and today it means a free online university! We all have access to the jobs of the future. While there are a number of free resources for education, it is central to my point that this free university also offer accredited diplomas! For the price of keeping one physical university open we can pay for a national free online university for all that works with community colleges and establish a system of certification and skills testing that provides real learning outcomes. The bar can be set higher and where today’s students graduate with many holes in the knowledge, the job market is requiring the student to actually know the material. I want to see everyone who takes responsibility for their education to have the means to do so. For a True Democracy to exist, everyone must be able to participate in their society. A free online university will give all the means to participate in the opportunities of the 21st century & new global economy in what ever way one desires and not as they can afford. I can imagine a world where anyone can apply himself or herself and become a Lawyer, Doctor or scientist without the $500,000 is costs today. This is revolutionary and might represent the end of class and privileged and the beginning of merit and worth. This can be a great new project in democracy and human rights.

There is a lot of promising results, in the area of training humans using computer simulation. I can see online simulation training helping to replace traditional HR activities and helping to employ the two most highly educated generations of Americans, in the history of the USA, in the not too distant future. This way we never have to see silly want ads with companies looking for candidates with five years pivot table experience! [giggles] Really, five years to ensure mastery over delimiters? [snarfs drink through nose] So, HR is looking for that special applicant with the reasoning ability of a Signs alien, working a door knob, yes?! [rolling on the floor laughing] To the right, to the left, skakes it, hmm...I do believe that Intergalactic bugger almost had it that time! [grin]
