Occupy Wall Street Should Become Occupy Congress

Here's why;

  1. II's the congress that passes laws that allow them to accept "legal" payoffs and benefits from corporations and othe special interests.

  2. These so-called "legal payoffs" (huge campaign contributions, lots of special inside information they can use to make a fortune, etc.) are what makes our congress persons give away some of the taxes of the 99% to their favorite contributors (organizations).

  3. We'd have jobs if congress didn't give tax breaks to help move jobs overseas. The reverse should be true, there should be higher taxes for companies that don't employ peole in the U.S.

  4. We'd have a financial surplus if we didn't give away so much money to corporations for bogus projects that end up making a fortune for the companies.

. . . and on and on.

ALSO, you need to end lobbyists hanging around our congress persons and telling them what should be included in our laws. Those lobbyists are paid by our corporations and other organizations.

ALSO, THERE SHOULD ONLY BE CLEAN BILLS (without Riderw) passes in congress without riders that rip-off the americam people.

  OCCPY WALL STREET ORGANIZATION WOULD BE MORE EFFETIVE IF THEY DO THE FOLLOWING;
  1. OCCUPY CONGRESS THAT''S WHERE OUR PROBLEMS ORIGINATE (SEE BELOW).

  2. SHAME THE CONGRESS PERSONS WHO VOTE FOR THINGS THAT ARE FAVORS FOR CORPORATIONS AGAINST THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. by posting a list of which laws are passed by which congress persons. They will be voted out.

  3. POST A LIST OF WHICH CONGRESS PERSONS TOOK MONEY OR FAVORS FROM WHICH CORPORATIONS AND ORGANIZATIONS. Again they will be voted out if the Occupy Movement would just point out which congress persons are doing corrupt things, even if legal because congress voted themselves as legal.

There is so much more along these lines that Occupy Wall Street could do without huting so many of the 99%.

BTW, I am part of the 99%, whih by the way may be more like 98% when you eliminate those people who are freeloaders and also take our taxes through unearned free government benefits.

I agree that we need to occupy the public sector as well as wall street. They go hand in hand. and we need to align with the tea party, most of them are NOT crazy and probably agree with many of our points.

Actually people could act in every state across the nation to confront the actual current members of Congress who materially caused the 2008 economic crash.

Here is a list of all current members of Congress who, in 1999, voted to repeal Glass-Steagall. This vote did more to cause the collapse of America than anything else. 235 current members of Congress voted for the repeal. Some in every state. Just the people who need to be confronted by the 99%.

The Congress that Crashed America http://home.ptd.net/~aahpat/aandc/congcrash.html

Please consider organizing a local protest against these people who trashed licensed Wall Street to rape America.

Spread the word. Please.

These are the Wall Street owned members of Congress who licensed Wall Street to rape and pillage America.

Democracy can be fun. And easy.

I would suggest that you check where those two have gone. Many, who voted in 1999, are governors and state legislators or appointed hacks today. Corrupting the local political pool.

If there are Rep. who voted for S-900 in other districts in your state you can also educate other people in your state about the corrupt people who are representing them. Let's work at getting all of these cretins out of our government as soon as possible.

This is definitely true. It is just so hard because usually when voting is going on it is between worse and more worse. We definitely need to get these people out of office, but we also need to have strong leaders who won't sway if offered bribes etc.

Yea. Big corporations control congress through lobbyists. I can't afford a lobbyist can you? Look what huge corporation lobbyists like Yahoo and LinkedIn killed in congress this week! http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/2chambers/post/stop-online-piracy-act-sopa-pits-yahoo-google-against-us-chamber-of-commerce/2011/11/17/gIQAk5XiUN_blog.html

you can't fight one side of the equation(corporations) and win while ignoring the other side(the government). The government is actually the larger problem in that they are the master and the corporations and lobbyests beseach them; not the other way around.

Fucking egg right! Protest the enablers.

These stupid OWS liberals are fighting the wrong fight because they're so entrenched in the liberal ideology. They don't want to admit that liberals controlled all 3 branches of government for 2 years of Obama's presidency and now control 2 branches.

The politicians have enabled Wall Street excess!
