Forum Post: We, of OWS, Are America's and the World's Last Great Hope

As the Last Great Hope of humanity, we cannot fail. Failure is not an option for us and all of our allies all over planet earth. In mid-October 2011, USA Today called us a "rag tag assortment of college kids, labor unionists, conspiracy theorists and others", hinting we are a flash-in-the-pan devoid of remedies. I was reminded of that famous painting of George Washington crossing the Delaware River during Christmas of 1776, leading what historians called a "rag tag Continental Army" which surprised the British invaders and won the Battle of Trenton. We, of OWS and Occupy movements all over the world, will win equivalent victories in our own struggle for freedom from the tyrannical rule of the 1%. We cannot and will not fail!

.."Sticks and Stones....", .. Amazing how a seemingly Adult News Media could resort to such Juvenile writing. USA, is NOT even representing their Own Employees!

Stop the Corruption on Wall Street, and remind the Police who patrol next to you.. you are Fighting FOR them as Well, and the Future of their children.

Today, there were Gas Bombs lobbed at Protestors and arrests made. Name calling is the LEAST of our worries.. Tell THAT to the Editor of USA Today!

My entire nuclear family and inlaws have been laid off, we all have masters degrees except for my self and my brother, who are currently working on a bs in math, and a masters in child education. Several of us are facing foreclosure in the near future. Every time the economy or stock market start to heat up a bit, the price of oil and electricity jump up and knock the wind out of the economic sail. So for many of us it IS that bad.

If we have passed global peak oil production, as many experts think we may have, you might not be far behind us.

I hope OWS don't fail but OWS isn't the end of the line if you fail. There are many more options and ways to fight. Please keep on fighting but there is always future chances.

OWS MUST NOT FAIL.

And EVEN THE MOST RABID OF THE 1% must hope and pray that OWS will not fail.

Only the CLINICALLY INSANE could wish for OWS to fail, for what is the alternative to a total and peaceful overhaul of our completely corrupt system?

"Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable." John F. Kennedy, In a speech at the White House, 1962 35th president of US 1961-1963 (1917 - 1963)

You're welcome.

I see OWS an incredible gift that Life - or God, if you are a believer - is offering to America.

A few months ago, I spent an evening with a group of top economists, political scientists, etc., and there was a consensus amongst them : they were all terrfied at the prospect of a CIVIL WAR - or "class war", if you will - erupting in the U.S and destroying the country. None of them even dared hope that a Movement like OWS would suddenly emerge, offering a peaceful alternative.

I myself, as a lifelong proponent of peaceful change, had been hoping and praying for something like this to happen, especially since the Arab Spring and the nonviolent mass protest in Madison, Wisconsin. I am now convinced that a major overhaul of our political system is not only possible but probable within the next few years. And with the exception of the odd "basket case" shooting at protesters, I firmly believe that the "Second American Revolution" that Thomas Jefferson was already calling for, will be a complex and difficult but peaceful transition that will save the country.

What are your own views?
