It's not a secret that Culture Jammers and Adbusters are originally behind this. It was being discussed as far back as 2009 and the plan was to kick this whole thing off at the start of the 2012 election season. It's not secret and not a 1% conspiracy.

Who cares who started it? That makes no difference. It's more important to worry about where this ends up!

It only happens when you are not wearing your pie pan helmet. When you do it spells R on P aul

The person who runs this site is named "Justine Alexandra Roberts Tunney", and they have published the source code for the website on github.com here:

github.com/jart/occupywallst

You will notice that the headline, or "motto" for the project there reads as follows:

"Stomping out capitalism, one line of code at a time"

Since the ideology which most vociferously speaks out against "Capitalism" is Socialism, it is quite likely that the maintainer of this website is a Socialist.

I would be quick to point out that capitalism is not an "ism" at all, rather an unavoidable result of the consequence of posessing things.

Note also that "posessing" is not a legal construct which can be debated -- but a physical fact having to do with who's hands an object is within or controlled by.

The example I have previously given was this:

If you have a broken car, and you ask me to fix it because I have expertise in fixing cars, and you then trade me two ears of corn for my labor...

Then I have 'capitalized' on my labor.

If you then turn around, and trade that newly repaired car for two pigs, then, lo and behold, you have /capitalized/ on my labor, in much the same way that I did.

The difference being, you /posessed/ the car iteself, which repsresents a much greater amount of labor input than my repair, and were therfore able to obtain a higher 'price' for it.

Question is this: Did you ''exploit" me?

And another question:

Is it even physically possible for a socialist system to prohibit and prvent such transactions as I describe above, or, as I propose:

Is opposing and "stomping out" capitalism futile?

Thanks for the info ScrewyL. So, this means there is no chance the censors will be lifted unless we convince "Justine Alexandra Roberts Tunney" him/herself.

One step at a time, we need a leader and we need Ron Lawl and we need him fast ...

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 12 years ago

Why RonPaul?

What has he done for anyone in the last five years?

Has he exposed the Fed for criminally bankrupting the economy?

Has he exposed the Congress for allowing laws to be passed that made it legal to bankrupt the economy?

[-] 1 points by ScrewyL (809) 12 years ago

Yes and Yes

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 12 years ago

Has he really? I better buy him a beer then.

[-] 1 points by ScrewyL (809) 12 years ago

Buy?! How capitalist of you. -.-

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 12 years ago

I build houses, ScrewyL.

You want one? I don't do this job for free.

At what point did you reach an assumption that I don't work for a living?

[-] 1 points by debndan (1145) 12 years ago

need him for what? Not sure destroying 5 gov't departments, then eliminating all income taxes, abolishing the fed, then taking up the gold standard makes sense after the pot wears off.

I mean really, what are you Paulite looneys smoking?

[-] 1 points by debndan (1145) 12 years ago

which is why he favors legalizing pot.

[-] -1 points by ronpaul2012 (41) 12 years ago

And now that I think about it, I could probably edit the code to undo the Ron.Paul renaming script. uhg, project for tomorrow.

[-] 0 points by ScrewyL (809) 12 years ago

You probably could, assuming it's within the code and not the configuration -- however, were you to do that, you would need J.A. Roberts Tunney to perform a pull request.

His or her e-mail address is jtunney @ lobstertech.com

[-] -1 points by ronpaul2012 (41) 12 years ago

We will have to occupy his email address until he accepts the code change then ;)

"In a July 13, 2011 blog post, the Canadian-based Adbusters Foundation, best known for its advertisement-free anti-consumerist magazine Adbusters, proposed a peaceful occupation of Wall Street to protest corporate influence on democracy, a growing disparity in wealth, and the absence of legal repercussions behind the recent global financial crisis." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occupy_Wall_Street

[-] 1 points by ScrewyL (809) 12 years ago

Yes, thank you.

Equally telling is the three languages which this site has been translated to (in the upper right corner of the page):

French, English, and Spanish

[-] 1 points by judy (61) 12 years ago

YW :) Hmm... didn't notice the translation options...

[-] -1 points by ronpaul2012 (41) 12 years ago

It's just interesting! They thought of it a few months before launch!

[-] -1 points by ronpaul2012 (41) 12 years ago

I was wondering that myself. I see they used whoisguard.
