...Of this "movement" or protest or whatever you want to call it. Without a coherent message, one that is simple and easy to understand, all of the work that has gone into "OccupyWallStreet" is going to be wasted. Here's my recommendation:

If you claim to represent the 99% then you need to recognize that far less than half of that number are vegans, animal rights activists, radical environmentalists, or subscribers to any of the signature issues that are identified with the liberal fringe.

If I'm an average joe that wants to see the playing field leveled between people like me and corporate america, I eat meat. I drive a car even when I could walk just as easy. I'm worried about global warming, but don't think much about my carbon footprint. I'm in favor of same-sex marriage and gays in the military, but wouldn't feel comfortable showering with a homosexual (any more than the average hetero sexual woman would feel comfortable showering with a hetero sexual man,) I played with toy guns when I was a kid. I served in the army or at the very least I admire soldiers and veterans. It seems to me like some of the ideas of the TEA party sound good on paper but don't believe they would work in practice. I once voted republican because I personally liked the candidate, and don't regret casting the vote.

If you can craft a message that will appeal to me, then this demonstration will grow some legs. If you can't, then this little emotional demonstration will evaporate by Halloween.

Good luck.

What is it that we are fighting for? The end of Capitalism? American communism? What is with all of the isms?

Let me tell you what I am fighting for. I am fighting for a global economy that is based on all of the natural resources of the planet. I am fighting for a true democracy that is detached from profit-seeking institutions. I am fighting for the principals that America was truly founded upon; not the principals that Michelle Bachman, John Boehner, or Barack Obama understand. I lump all current politicians into one category: evil. Lacking morals. Lacking conscience.

I understand our problems to be so immense that if a true progressive took office he would not muffle them, nor elongate their existence. I do not believe that Barack Obama is fighting for the populous.

I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.

Viva la Resistance!
