http://www.cnbc.com/id/45945390 Wall St vs Main St again. The government is working on a program to sell REOs owned by Fannie/Freddie/FHA in large bulk sales. Why do we need to sell REOs in large bulk? Residential RE market is a local market and very efficient. There is plenty of local investors in every market. Selling in large bulk will only allow Wall St Hedge Funds/Private Equity funds to participate. They need to sell in smaller pools to maximize the price and participation.
