As seen with the recent Bank of America decision to reverse its $5.00 debit card fees, there is one way to make them pay attention.
We must collectively vote with our dollars. And if we could do this simultaneously it would have an even more devastating effect.
I suggest that all OWS supporters show up at their banks on the same day at the same time, to cancel or move our accounts out of the banks.
This would hit them right were it hurts, in the pocket book, and the media would have a field day with it.
the banks are not the problem. the name of the movement is not occupy the banks, it is occupy wall street. you have the right idea though, we need to act together but through our ira, 401k, and other similar investments. GET YOUR MONEY OUT OF WALL STREET RIGHT NOW. roll it into an ira at your locally owned bank. this will get wall street's attention plus it will give our locally owned banks an infusion of cash. a bank is like any store in that they have to move their product in order to stay in business. you will see an increased desire by these local merchants (banks) to invest (hopefully locally) this cash infusion so they can pay you your guaranteed interest plus return your investment.
nice thing about this is that we can do this from our homes and make much more noise.
