Just wondering why we do not insist that our government take some positive action to insure that people eligible to vote get registered. Instead of creating barriers that turn back citizens, virtually all of whom are eligible to vote.

Universal suffrage

The Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania states:

"Elections shall be free and equal; and no power, civil or military, shall at any time interfere to prevent the free exercise of the right of suffrage."

A federal Constitutional amendment to this effect would change America for the better forever.

I believe that some positive effort would still be needed to reach out and insure that eligible voters vote.

Large election turnouts favor social justice and democracy. The authoritarian right-wing, that controls the leadership of the two dominance parties, does not support social justice and democracy.
