I am a white guy over 50. The reason politians seem to cater to folks like me is, we vote. This country will get better politians when more folks vote outside of my demographic group. Right wing politians like Newt, only worry about the views of white folks over 40. Change that by voting. If folks under 30 voted often and in large number, politians would have a hard getting elected without your support. If we can have at least 60% the voters participate, we will have less radical right wing views in Washington and in our state capitols.

yes... but voting alone is not enough...

because they lie about the results... we also need enough voice heard... so they dare not lie

I agree with this. I also would like to add that changes have to come from the bottom up as well. That means that people NEED to participate in the smaller elections.

I do not know if people are thinking that the local elections are not important or what. The last time that I voted there was no one there except for those working. Ghost town.
