Forum Post: Use The Donated $$ to Rent A Few Apts. Near The Park !!

The #OWS organizing groups should consider using some of the reportedly nearly 500K in donations to rent a few apts. for the coming yr. near the park. These places would be invaluable as places for people to have use of the toilets, clean up or even shower, do laundry etc. They could also be used as command centers with good communications and stable power. A repair shop for electronics could also be made available and a kitchen! Being barricaded in a park without any "inside" facilities in winter is IMO putting people in harm's way. Use the $$ effectively folks. This movement isn't about camping outside for campings sake. Making it easier to do this requires flexibility and creativity. I'm sure their are local landlords that are sympathetic and might even give you a better rate.
