Pew Institute did a detailed analysis of the american electorate a few years ago. If OWS is going to really give a voice to a consensus to the bottom 99%-or anything close to it, I think it behooves us all to better understand what the current range of opinion actually is.

Many of us are actually surrounded by folks who think like we do-and that can limit us.

Pew analysis suggests that there are 3 voter groups that tend to attract the most wealthy americans-they call them the Enterprises(GOP), Liberals(Democrats) and Upbeats(and independent voter group). These groups account for most political donations-but a smaller part of the overall electorate.

This is interesting, but dense, and worth reading. Thanks.

Years ago, I worked at the National Opinion research Center. I'm happy to help with understanding any issues you have problems with. Yes, it is dense-but still worthwhile.

Speaking for 99% means speaking not just for scruffy anarchists-but also folks that have a more conservative bent. The key really is to help the folks that truly identify with the upper 1% to understand they have been conned.
