Top generals recently advised Obama that the consensus of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is that the Israelis must be warned in absolutely clear terms that any military attack on Iran is thoroughly unacceptable and would likely lead to world war.
When asked by the generals to convey this to the Israeli prime minster, Obama refused:
