Forum Post: To what are you committed?

People throw words around, sometimes in unison. These words and contexts have multiple interpretations. Indeed, the increasing number of interpretative methods may also be inexorable.

To what are we committed? When we demand accountability, responsibility and justice comes along for the ride. When we politely request that money be taken out of politics, what do we mean by either money or politics?

The list is seemingly infinite. I am interested in what we believe to be real, whether we acknowledge its complexity or not.

In addition, should we defer to academic expertise or rely on commonsense, be sympathetic to critique or protest the techniques that fracture the human sciences?

It is an infinite subject because, they are going after human values. You can't fight things that are part of us. People will always be corruptable, envious, and petty. You will never change that unless you figure out how to take that attribute away. The Occupy people are no different, but because they think they know better than the next guy, they claim their cause is right.
