The Orange Unity Wristband Scumbags, please note:

http://24hourwristbands.com/?mysrc=google

These cost .33 cents to make in bulk or less. They cost less than a dollar to ship anywhere in the country.

So... 4.99? Really? Or 4.50 like this guy here? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250912728139#ht_632wt_1396

I'm not listing any more but you get the point.

So whenever you see these being sold for five bucks with .50 cents going to occupy wall street, somebody just walked off with three dollars and a HUGE smile.

These things are most likely made in China (same as "Livestrong" wrist bands) and the profit is probably going to the 1%. You can't make this stuff up.

smacks forehead You are not losing three bucks on auction fees, and these auctions are set up as though they are some sort of solidarity charity. That's disingenuous, and a rip off.

add in the ebay fees and paypal fees. Ebay and Paypal are a one-two punch scam. First ebay bangs you for listing the auction, then for selling the item. They charge you for each picture you put up. When the buyer buys, Paypal gets their cut as a stiff percentage, higher than a credit card would charge you. But ebay doesn't allow credit card payments through them, only Paypal. so you're stuck. And printing paper, ink, packing materials (only the boxes are free.) And if you're a seller you would still like to make a buck profit.

Which is $1 more than you would make otherwise sitting at home with a pile of them on the kitchen table. Thank you eBay and paypal for making to possible for me to sell almost anything from my house. They deserve their fees. Good grief.
