Everybody knows OWS has problems but OWS is only the current brand. We are not OWS we are the people. We will not stop, we will not cave. Everyday a new project, new names, new brands. We will build our own industry out of this movement.
Don't underestimate the value of trolls.
Somebody has to start the conversation. Every time they post something, it is usually some kind of propaganda they have bought into. They usually are just parroting right wings lies and fear
Then an OWS supporter comes along with truth and logic shows that they have no valid rebuttals. Then they start making childish comments and eventually start calling names
The bottom line is that they created a stage/venue where their lies and motives are exposed for the new people to see.
Don’t drive them away, we need them
I really really try not to drive them off but.... just seems to happen : )
Well maybe we should all just coddle them a little more (-:
it's a ploy to make you feel productive so you don't go out on your own and spread this fire.
Really all they do is create awareness of their ignorance and fearfulness.
They just encourage to people to beat them down with the truth
I have learned so much by researching the net. I would not have done that without being energized by their negativity. Yes they really are an important part of the movement

That’s OK we know that you think if you keep saying something over and over it will eventually become true. You should get some of those emerald slippers and try clicking them together and chanting
If you are the 99%, this would include leftists and righties, why the vitriol aimed at the right? Good way to alienate half your movement.
The only time I mention the right is when some obvious righty starts throwing shit and calling names. First of all I don't even agree with the right/left paradigm. I see it as a device that is being used to keep us divided. I am not left or right bound. I am free to think what I want regardless of what group thinks they have ownership of my values
The last thing those that control America want is us to align.
However there are self-proclaimed righties and lefties that are equally ignorant and parrot their talking points. I have no respect for either person.
When you read these forums, ask yourself who is trying to tear it down. Obviously they don’t embrace the movement regardless of what anybody says or does. Don’t expect them to be treated with fairness and respect when they don’t show any.
Not everyone that doesn't agree with OWS are parrots of the right wing. Believe it or not some of us actually CAN form our own opinions.
I know that and I don't consider honest people that disagree as trolls.
I have seen a fair share of legitimate points of view and debate. And I personally think it is healthy. None of us should have blinders on for any reason or cause.
The problem is: the trolls dominate the anti-OWS debate so much that they discredit those that are truly trying to have a debate. They actually do more harm than good to those that have an honest opposing view.
It's easy to defeat a real Troll........ignore them. they are here to gin things up and if they don't get any fuel for their fire they eventually die out. Or they fight with "trolls" from the opposite side, because they do exist as well.
The short answer is most of the time they can’t be ignored (my opinion)
Ignoring them is a double edged sword. Often they post things that sound real believable but are in fact just propaganda.
To ignore their post is allowing believable lies to spread. If their lies are debunked it allows others to debunk it again when it comes back again.
Trolls are benefit to the OWS movement but are a detriment the anti-OWS, unfortunately for people with honest intentions like yourself
He is not talking about people who do not agree, but about trolls. If you post in the forum using well formed solid arguments, you are not a troll. I like to read good posts from both sides of the issue.
I am not even against trolls per se. If a troll posts creative insults, then I sometimes get a nice laugh, even if it's against me. Intelligent trolls are always fun. They are like the wise jesters of the King.
My problem is with trolls who copy/paste messages or repeat simple minded rants from others. Their comments are boring. Isn't that the worst poison?
Be for OWS, be against OWS, be a troll, whatever, just don't post repetitious boring material.

Anybody who doesn't march in lockstep with Occupy Wallet's agenda is labeled as a troll.
If you truly believe this, please read my comment in the Why Troll thread and give it a point so it stays up on top.

Discussing "trolls" and the definition of what is a "troll" is clearly what "trolls" do on this website.

Trolls are fine. The danger is those who post boring messages. Kierkegaard once said the worst enemy of man is boredom. I agree. Support OWS, be anti-OWS, be a troll, but please, do not post boring copy/pasted rants that don't tingle my mind in any way. If you want to troll, be creative and attack me with memorable insults. Give me something I can crunch on.

You have to have capital for that dude. Hanging out in a park won't cut it. You're going to have to get off your ass and do something besides beg for other people's money and material so you can stay in camp, warm and fed.

If you are so confident of your movement why does the mods of this site find it necessary to delete those who are in dissent of OWS? Or is Free Speech reserved only for people who support this movement?

A link to a petition and a link to an article about the OWS and their fear of someone finding out where their "media" offices are? That's you answer to my question? That doesn't tell who OWS is... it tells me that "someone" has a petition and that OWS is paranoid about something....
