Forum Post: This Movement Needs a Mascot... How About Waldo?

This movement needs a face. It needs a figure that everyone can rally behind. It needs a symbol or a mascot. I think that the one man who can best represent this wonderful movement is Waldo from the "Where's Waldo" series. Truly, no one better represents the Occupy movement than friendly, old Waldo. Think about it: he's practically dressed in an american flag, he's homeless and unemployed, and he's always overlooked by everyone. What better personification for this great movement could there be? Waldo is just one guy in a crowd, but isn't he still important? He represents every Occupy Protester; One voice, but as equally loud and important as all the others.

Just think of the slogans that could go with this mascot! "We found Waldo, now YOU find the solutions!" or "Where's Waldo? He's here, with the 99 Percent!" Whatever our message may be, or however varied our beliefs are, Waldo is the face we should present as our own! He should be the symbol that binds us together!

WOW. I was just telling a coworker at 4pm EST that I want to combine my two costume ideas of Where's Waldo and Occupy Wall Street protester because I realized how perfectly they go together. Then I googled "where's waldo we are the 99 percent" and saw this post! I'm so buying that costume as soon as I leave work. Keep it up, everyone!
