Today I have logged on to tell you that our whole generation has been shafted. I have found out that the reason for this was that the establishment wanted graduates just smart enough to use their machines but not think for themselves. The way this was done was by deny young people a liberal education, this was an education that teaches graduates to think critically. You may think of that as something you are born with, but it is not. While its true that some of you through your own will and genetic memory know how to think critically, most of the population does not. In going back and studying this skill myself, I have seen many different methods touted as steps of Critical thinking, but the best one I have found is Sir Francis Bacon's scientific method. Right know we live in the Matrix, everything you see and hear is a lie. I believe if you use and teach the scientific method in dealing with the issues you face, even the most lame and bedraggled of your number will be better equipped to solve problems then most of their counterparts on the hill. What ever you see on the news or on the internet, or even read in a school book you must question. The first thing you have to do when you see or hear anything is

1ask a question, like what's wrong with this?

2 Do background research like what would America have to gain from attacking Iran

3 Construct a hypothesis, America wants to Bail out the banks because ???

4 Test with an experiment, when it comes to social situations you can only look at similar situations in history

5 Analyze results Draw conclusion, Like maybe Newt Gingrich doesn't have our best interest at heart

     Many teachers say things like Clarity of thought, that's all fine and dandy but clear thinking and the critical thinking are not mutually exclusive. It's possible to have a clear thought that's complete Bullshit and generally complete bullshit falls apart during the above steps. 
     Another method meant to confound that I found that popped up a lot 

Knowledge=Of course Comprehension+No really Application= What you going to apply it before you analyze it Analysis=ok Synthesis=yeah Evaluation= What ever So at what point of these steps do you actually start thinking critically, this does not teach critical think it implies critical thinking, the above is what Obama does before he reads a speech. I know this may seem like school, but I want all of you to be ready to defend your ideals from people like dick Chaney and Newt Gingrich. I can't have the antichrist and prince of darkness verbally tearing you guys a new one. You need to be prepared to defend your ideals against any one. I know you occupiers with a background in science know the scientific method but you can also apply it to social issues.
