What saddens me is that some people watch the news and believe that just because people have varying views on abortion, gun control, religion in school, etc. means that they are enemies and fight amongst themselves.

Instead of realizing the main issue at hand: 9% of people approve of Congress right now, the lowest rating in American HISTORY. That means we're all on the same side. We want things to change, and we want the government to represent the majority again. Tea party, OWS, republican, democrat, black, white, none of that matters. We're all in this together. What we need to focus on is the fact that the wealthy elite in our government and financial institutions have destroyed our economy deliberately for profit and must be removed from power.

Watch the movie Inside Job and see for yourself how corrupt our leaders are. We need to stick together and instill a government that serves the people.

Where is the verse in the Bible that gives the Government the right to FORCE us to do that which the Bible commands/dictates in the way of taking care of the poor/downtrodden/abandoned, etc.? You won't find it anywhere. Instead, you will see instances of people transformed by the Holy Spirit and their hearts changed to hearts of grace and generosity towards those less fortunate than them. Additionally, the church ALREADY has a mechanism by which is gathers resources (from willing givers) and redistributes those resources through outreach programs, etc. Why does THE CHURCH need to get on board with OCCUPY?!! This is laughable!! Instead, maybe those in Occupy need to get on board with the Church who for 100's of years has been imploring its members and other members in the community to give up some of what it has for the less-fortunate in society. I wouldn't be surprised if Christian and Mormons, especially the ones that you would call 1%'ers outgive all of those aligning themselves with the Occupy movement. You actually think we are going to let an angry mob of ingrates tell US that something we have been doing between ourselves and God for years without prompting or regulating by the all-knowing, all-powerful Nanny-State Government is not good enough anymore? Not only are we not giving enough to feed the poor, heal the sick, fight addiction, father the fatherless, etc. now we are going to let the Governement tell us how much and to whom we will give up our resources to? Occupy has nothing to teach Christians, and you/they are barking up the wrong tree. Occupy should be joining Christians if they are genuine about wanting to make a positive change...not the other way around. It's funny how Liberals suddenly need God when he fits their agenda.
