that has n othing to do with the constitution - just change the tax rates to be more progressive .

Get lost, sh*thead. The U.S. Constitution is the only thing that can save us.

That's a bizarre nonsequitur. Are you some kind of psychotic?

If you are harming no one you can do whatever you want!!

[-] 1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

I just want to make sure that I heard you correctly.

You are having a problem getting around those rights that have been incorporated.

Some men look at constitutions with sanctimonious reverence and deem them like the Ark of the Covenant, too sacred to be touched. They ascribe to men of the preceding age a wisdom more than human, and suppose what they did to be beyond amendment. I knew that age well; I belonged to it and labored with it. It deserved well of its country. It was very like the present; and forty years of experience in government is worth a century of book reading; and this they would themselves say, were they to rise from the dead...Laws and institutions must go hand and hand with the progress of the human mind.

I also struggle with the motives of the designers; knowing that they were the 1% of their day. The biggest problem I have with the Constitution is that it gives very limited power to the people ......... elections. That power is muted by corruption, money buying both sides, the electoral college, and limited choice. Personally, I like this idea (Government 2.0 diagram) on this page:

http://osixs.org/Rev2_menu_commonsense.aspx

It's based on our current system, but makes the people the Executive branch, and give us veto power, without making us legislators. It would also have the effect of reinstating the checks and balances that have broken down over the years.

Cheers

So what.

[-] 0 points by epirb (-29) 11 years ago

You heard me right, these amendments need to be removed.

[-] 0 points by epirb (-29) 11 years ago

You are right. The 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th amendments and Posse Comitatus should be removed from our Constitution.

the constitution was written long after the revolution and was written (illegally) to replace the Articles of Confederation.

"Protect its Citizens from Unfairness and Greed."
Other than you, who claims that statement is true? Other than you, who makes that statement ?

SPECIFICALLY - how do we sunset the constitution - SPECIFICALLY

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 11 years ago

And where did it fail?

In the courts? Or in congress?

The former admin called it "just a goddam piece of paper", despite claiming to be a god-fearing soul.

[Deleted]

[-] 1 points by Builder (4202) 11 years ago

It didn't fail for nearly 200 years.

You call that a goof?

From what I can gather, the reagonomics period was when things really started going pear-shaped for Americans in general.

Remember that we are currently in a similar financial bind to that of pre-great depression days. Taxes on the wealthy were one initiative among several that led to the greatest growth period for middle-class Americans, post-depression dayz.

Unfortunately, due to citizen's united, congress is ruled by corporate influence, rather than the will of the people. Every single member of congress is corrupt to a degree, and needs to be removed from any kind of decision-making process, including future "lobbyist" roles.

Under no circumstances should they be considered eligible for a stint in the corrupt fed res, printing worthless green paper.

And "We the People" want a new Constitution
which people? your proclamation is based on which poll or election or published statistics? If you can't provide FACTS - I'm done with you -
If you can't provide FACTS - don't bother replying

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

you really worked hard on that answer - with no specificity AT ALL
since you cant or wont be specific, do you know what group in America is pushing hardest to create an Article V convention? .

ALEC

ever heard of them ?

[Deleted]

[-] 1 points by bensdad (8977) 11 years ago

I do not know - what clause in the constitution prevents this ?
Isn't the VA & medicare commerce? and the Manhattan Project? the TVA

If your statement is accurate, I would assume businesses would be afraid of the government's competitive advantage. Medicare is the least expensive insurance program.
We should get rid of all med ins co And we should have a national bank to compete with the too big to fail banks

What do I think?
This is communism
Do I care what it is called? NOT A BIT

CAN IT BE DONE ? &
WHERE HAS IT BEEN SUCCESSFUL ?

I care about real solu tions, not pipedreams & fairytales

So - can you tell me five SPECIFIC things you want changed and why.

you seem to be a newbie - if you intend to have ANY credibility here, I suggest that you learn more about what you are posting about .

Although ALEC just lost Pepsi, Coke, Kraft , and others -
they are too big to fail
And even if the lost 90% of their companies, koch can sneeze up the balance

BUT
Thanks to OWS and the flood of recent PR and zimmerman -
the stench of alec is becoming much more conspicuous

If you think you know America’s biggest threat,
..Koch ?
….Norquist ?
……Iran ?
………Boehner ?
………...McConnell ?
……………Murdoch ?

you are wrong –
……spend ten minutes with each of these

ALEC Corporate member list may not be up to date
http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=ALEC_Corporations

2000 ALEC politicians by state they have lost a few! http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=ALEC_Politicians

.............................................BE AFRAID – VERY AFRAID

And FYI –

ALEC is doing everything they can do to create
a new constitutional convention [Article V Convention]
that can propose virtually anything:

All public schools – privatized
All medicare/Medicaid/SocialSecurity – privatized
No cap gains tax
EPA – gone
No corporate tax
Guns for all
No inheritance tax

ALEC owns 2000 state politicians –
Koch’s tp owns 50 house members
How hard would it be for them to buy 50-100 constitutional convention delegates?

Tell me – what else do you think an Article V Convention could do?

Everyone who earns above the average needs to pay until they are brought down to average.

[-] -1 points by epirb (-29) 11 years ago

You are saying that the average is the poverty line?

[-] -2 points by epirb (-29) 11 years ago

You do not have the right to protest, when the 2nd amendment is done away with, the gun owners will protest. This will not be allowed. The 4th amendment will allow the government to conduct warrant less searches of your homes looking for weapons. If found you will not be able to take the 5th and refuse to testify. Posse Comitatus done away with will allow Federal Troops to be used against U.S. citizens to collect illegal weapons.

It's all about the 1% being responsible for their actions. You are not capable of deciding for yourself. The government needs to decide for you.

[-] 3 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

How much more scripted could this possibly be?

:/

[+] -5 points by epirb (-29) 11 years ago

Please you are nothing more than a moron. Go home and hide under the bed.

[-] 4 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

You are the same asswipe as you were under your other IDs. You pathetic piece of shit.

[-] -2 points by epirb (-29) 11 years ago

You need to realize that you cannot make decisions for yourself without government intervention.
