Forum Post: The Threat of Rentier Capitalism to Your Private Property

This content is user submitted and not an official statement

The largest concentrations of wealth will have it all in the end. That's a mathematical certainty. That's the “power of compound interest.” That's why Moses banned usury and declared Jubilee.

Rent is usury. Rental streams guarantee the few will have more and the rest will have less. As the money that represents wealth inflates, the rentier hoards grow relative to freehold property and investments. Your individual wealth will shrink to the point it can no longer support you, much less appreciate in value. Not may happen! Will happen!

Private property may as well be banned, if only the chosen few can have it! It will be virtually forbidden for you to have private property. Wake up fools! Individuality must be afforded. And only those who take enough of what it takes a community to produce will have enough wealth to buy it. Their wealth mathematically precludes wealth for the rest of US. [Define wealth as some multiple of the average positive net worth. Negative wealth, debt, may be included in the hoards of the rich.] That's not merely ironic. It's perverse! Worse, it's a threat to the survival of the Human Race.

yes - rentals should be classified under a corporate tax code better yet should be banned from being a business - it has become a business - there are multi-million dollar realty corporations and Chinese businessmen lapping up properties for cash - outbidding the common man and woman, and forcing us to pay them a fee to live. This is criminal. Housing should never ever be a market. please watch this if you have not already. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL3n59wC8kk Our lives are up for ransom.

When Comcast owns your apartment, when Wal-mart is your land lord...do you think it's going to get better or worse? The supreme court doesn't work for the people - when the monopolies sniff out new markets after they collapse all else they will attempt this - of course and they will be allowed to compete with you for housing and you "will be lucky to have an apartment."

Real Estate for Ransom - you tube

I also want to say thanks to all you f*@$-wad baby boomers who congratulate yourselves for being so inventive when you're really such sell-outs and profiting of the backs of the next generations while idling the days away exploring your creative side while your renter foots the bills and saddles your life on his / her shoulders and slaves away at two jobs to pay you your "market" rate price that you bought dirt cheap back before you decided housing would be your newest business venture along with pasta machines and soy-bean futures - all while you ridicule the younger generations because they weren't smart enough to get in on that housing thing back before they were teenagers or before they were even born !!!

Can I reserve part of a sewer pipe now? Do I need a realtor? Is standing room really expensive? Do you know if they come with doors on both ends? What is access to shopping like? Will I have my own manhole cover or are they shared - how does that work?

I know that this is not funny - but I can see it becoming the new norm. F'n Sick that.

Eeewe - does that come with a complimentary weekly hose down? Are they allowed to be personalized? Is the bathroom the floor? If so - do they provide something to push the solid stuff through the wire Or is that something we need to provide for ourselves? Ummmm I hate to ask but will someone be living over me? If there are top racks - are they a lot more expensive? This new real-estate market is so complicated.

OH - also - I suppose that parts of the sewer will be considered - upper crustal - will that take them out of many renters price range?

Light it up! The more visible we make the threat, the sooner a critical mass will come together to emit the kind of energy that can't be ignored.

Talking about the threat is all I know how to do for now.

Very nice post !!! The Marxist (shock horror, lol) concept of ''property is theft'' can now be seen in its true light !! Yet propagandist use of such terms (when Marx was only ever talking about The Parasite Class), by the Rentier Class on The 99%, against our own interests - has helped to lead to the state we are all now so clearly in and which you describe so succinctly ! Also fyi, I append and highly recommend :
