The public discussion has been derailed for a very long time... why else do you think there are so many unhelpful negative comments in so many online forums... it is a symptom of social dsyfunction on very large scales...

The media often causes this, and also reflects the problems in society as well...

How do you think we are going to overcome this...?

[-] 0 points by Roundtree (37) 12 years ago

Good question - even larger scale civil unrest perhaps.

Porn site developer - Yikes! Slander much?

There's nothing sleepy about it. The PTB have spent millions studying how to distract/manipulate the populace (Bernays was the father of this).

Since the rise of Occupy I've noticed the Yahoo and AOL home sites are overrun with "OMG, such and such celebrity's boob fell out!!!!!" stories. They are desperate to shut us down and exposing who they really are.

[-] 1 points by Roundtree (37) 12 years ago

Good post. It's important to talk to our friend and neighbors to keep a community awareness that is out of the hands of the poison gas factories of mass communication.

[-] 1 points by Roundtree (37) 12 years ago

Fame is brutal. No thanks. The only person I want to know what I'm up to is my accountant - and even then...

Why can thousands of people gather to watch a ball thrown around, but not gather to create much needed lasting political and economic change? A culture of stupidity.

[-] 2 points by richardkentgates (3269) 12 years ago

You got it. It's uncool to know stuff.

[+] -4 points by smartcapitalist (143) 12 years ago

exactly. most occutards dont know a thing. of course they think they do but then so does every other fool.

[-] 0 points by amerman (26) 12 years ago

It is mainly due because of our political differences and as you know the Country is severely divided. At a sporting event there is little to none politics involved. If we all got along like we do at sporting events etc, then we could make a change in our Country. .

[-] -2 points by tomahawk99 (-26) 12 years ago

That should be a hint, that American doesn't take the occupy movement seriously.

[-] 1 points by Roundtree (37) 12 years ago

Where's the value in the Celebrity Cult, other than corporate agenda?

[-] -3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Should be recognized as a road flare, warning that we are in unsafe territory, because the Powers that Be do not want this covered!!!!!!!!!!!!

Should also alert the rest of the world to the same!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[-] -2 points by tomahawk99 (-26) 12 years ago

Yeah right, get it through your heads, Occupy is a failure, nobody cares about it.

[-] 1 points by Roundtree (37) 12 years ago

You care enough to follow the folks on this site. Seriously, you can't be satisfied with the condition of our country.....

[-] -2 points by tomahawk99 (-26) 12 years ago

of course i'm not satisfied. i have my list of improvements the U.S. needs and some are the same as the OWS's. But the occupy movement 'jumped the shark' and i can't support them.

[-] 1 points by Roundtree (37) 12 years ago

Ok, well thanks for being part of the discussion -

[-] -3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Sorry dense and desperate status-quo supporter. No on here is gonna buy your brand of crap.

But please continue digging your hole. We have plenty of others like you trying to dig to China.

You Should Get Together.

Or are you having a competition to see who can get there 1st?

[-] -2 points by tomahawk99 (-26) 12 years ago

DK your comments are meaningless. I want change, but the occupy movement is run by anarchist and very far left wingers who really have no game plan.

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

ok... how do you propose or think we might get change ?

[-] 1 points by tomahawk99 (-26) 12 years ago

Get rid of the anarchist, don't destroy property and respect the public. Look at MLK and the freedom riders they refused to be violent even though they were attacked. Occupy is the opposite, they are not being attacked but the refused to be peaceful. Tighten up and reduce the list of things that what you want to change, no one understands the movement's purpose. Don't be anti-american and make this an international movement, its not its american no one cares about occupy Egypt or any or those basket case countries.

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

well.... first... the majority of the movement promotes non-violence ....and IS promoted as non-violent ....

2nd, it IS an international movement, .... can't stop that ...

but... I ask how do you propose or think we might get change ... as the Nation ?

[-] 1 points by tomahawk99 (-26) 12 years ago

oh, for the things that OWS might allign with: put the stops on outsourcing, bring manufacturing back to the U.S., improve k-12 education, clean up the financial industry.

[-] 1 points by BradB (2693) from Washington, DC 12 years ago

;) cool ... I think we ALL agree ... read the posts ... the mass majority of us are trying to identify the solutions to those exact issues and more...

[-] -3 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Nope, can't sell that idea. Occupy and 99% are legitimate protest by American people from all walks of life. You either have a basic misunderstanding of what is going on and why it is, or your just trying to keep others away.

If you want change you should support legal demonstrations and Protest that is demanding the end of corrupt Business Practice and Corporate manipulation of our government.

Legal Protest is a right and a duty of every American.

[-] -2 points by tomahawk99 (-26) 12 years ago

what about the Union manipulation of our government? you can protest all you want you have the right, but you don't represent the 99%.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

What about ALEC????

There's no comparison.

[-] 0 points by tomahawk99 (-26) 12 years ago

Unions have already had a huge influence on the Obama admin. The GM and Chysler takeovers gave a lot to the Unions. Boeing NC (or SC?) plant was stopped by the Admin because of Union pressure. ALEC that's some lefty fantasy.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

What takeovers????????

Are you nuts?

Dismiss ALEC at the peril of America. It's no fantasy.

Alec Baldwin is a nice guy, very funny too.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

You're a flake.

I guess you deserve FLAKESnews.

You will become even flakier.

[-] 0 points by tomahawk99 (-26) 12 years ago

its a free country if you don't like foxnews, then don't watch it. Don't try to censure the press, what are you some fascist?

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

I don't watch TV much and TV news, not at all.

From what I've seen of FLAKESnews, They are the ones bordering on fascism.

Right from the start.

[-] 0 points by tomahawk99 (-26) 12 years ago

You don't even watch foxnews, but you have great expertise in it! Most likely from those high iq lefty internet sites. give me an real example of foxnews lying or being fascist. You don't have any, that's your problem.

[-] -1 points by tomahawk99 (-26) 12 years ago

i said proven lie's as when Dan Rather purposely lied with falsified data. There's nothing. You don't have to watch foxnews, its a free country , stop trying to control what people watch ,you fascist.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 12 years ago

There's proven FLAKESnews lies at every link I posted.

Stop being such a poseur.

[-] -1 points by tomahawk99 (-26) 12 years ago

When Dan Rather lied on CBS he was caught there was evidence, he was fired for lying. Give me an instance like that, not that internet rubbish you push. Don't you have a brain, can't you think for yourself?

[+] -4 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

Time will tell. As education and awareness grow. The public will see more and more how we are looking out for "EVERYONES" best interest.

[-] -2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 12 years ago

It is corporate ownership/control. Those manipulating government are also manipulating the people..

It is why our best media is internet and word of mouth.

Keep pointing out to America and the world that it is very strange that the spreading protests across America are not being covered by American ( ? ) Media.

We will know that real progress is beginning to be made when the MSM can not ignore covering the growing protests.

They will have to cover it sooner or later or become known world wide as Hypocrites.

The government will also have to begin acknowledging us as well for the same reason to avoid becoming known without a doubt that they are Hypocrites at Home.

Where is the 'Occupy Wall Street' Reality TV show? Who who would be a sponsor? Michael Moore? Coleman Tents....? Taser?
