It's important to see the big picture when busy in the local scene. Author Naomi Wolf writes about centralized coordination from Homeland Security to crack down on Occupy in major US cities. This article appeared in the UK Guardian which offers more balanced coverage than much of the US media.

Thanks for the article, GreenOurFuture. Obviously we don't want our people put in harm's way. I think the Movement will morph into a more modern shape. Unfortunately the 99% are used to seeing violence on TV. The fight will be for the hearts and minds, I believe. You have to choose between idealistic decent young protestors from the OWS or crooked evil greedy banksters from Wall Street. It is a fight of pure good vs pure evil. Classic stuff from the old Hollywood dramas.

Personally, I don't see this as a struggle between the 99% and the 1%, but more as a Sacred Struggle between the Forces of Light and the Forces of Darkness - or, if you prefer, between COMMON DECENCY and SOCIOPATHIC GREED.

ergo its a struggle between the 99% and 1%

Damn right. (There are some good ones in the 1% though - all non banksters).

Agree. It's simplistic to demonize the 1% and I don't think OWS does that at all. Its the sociopathically greedy - and the Corrupt System that aids and abets them! - that need to be challenged.

There are some decent people among the 1% - people of integrity such as billionaire businessman Warren Buffet, who said on CNBC about a year ago already: “There's CLASS WARFARE, all right, but it's my class, the rich class, that's making war, and we're winning.”

Buffett was HATED by the right for speaking so candidly, but he went on to say on CNN : "Actually, there’s been class warfare going on for the last 20 years, and my class has won. We’re the ones that have gotten our tax rates reduced dramatically. If you look at the 400 highest taxpayers in the United States in 1992, the first year for figures, they averaged about $40 million of [income] per person. In the most recent year, they were $227 million per person — five for one. During that period, their taxes went down from 29 percent to 21 percent of income. So, if there’s class warfare, the rich class has won."

Correct. The system does need to be fixed. You don't need politicians for that. The protestors can tell them what needs to be done. I don't give a damn who is in power, as long as they fix the system. As the OWS says "remove the monied corruption" It is that simple. It can be done!!

Where's the army, when you need them? Nixon wouldn't put up with this. On the other hand he had his plumbers to stop the leaks that watered the press. Seriously, what we don't know is what the plans are if the rich and our government really gets scared. Crisis: what crisis?
