Forum Post: The ridiculous ways in which the government is wasting our money

My father is a government employee. Through his experience, he told me that he saw the government’s internal team waste an incredible amount of taxpayer’s money in the project he was working on. It was his integrity in action in which he decided to become a whistle-blower to shed light on this issue. His whistle blowing action was not only “overlooked”, but it was passive aggressively handled through a series of retaliations that impacted not only his job but his health. He told me that if the government can complete the project with integrity and quality, it would obviously save us (the taxpayers) a lot of money.

Though some employees do work hard, most others do not. And it is these very same people who do not seem any bit concerned about wasting our money. Can you believe that this year this government conference was held at a famous gambling city?? (I’ll let you infer which one) Because it was held there, attendance surged 40%! You can do the math, if every government attendee spends $1500, this equates to $10 MILLIONS of our taxpayer’s money. He told me that the management had considered using an online virtual conference at the beginning of the year, but I guess their own personal enjoyment was more important because they held it in that gambling city anyway. I mean, come on! There are MILLIONS of families that barely have any food on their tables, and MILLIONS unemployed. Why are they using OUR money to go to a gambling city for a conference? They should put their personal interests aside and spend money where it’s needed! Isn’t it our government anyways?

These are some demands that I believe we should make:

  1. Remove bad management in the Government.
  2. Remove any staff member who is not working.
  3. Request project be completed with quality and stop wasting the taxpayer money.
  4. Request a clean government. Remove corruption.
  5. Request the Government to protect all whistle-blowers effectively.
  6. Request the Government to do everything possible to save taxpayer money and reduce deficit.

Thanks for reading and best of luck to you all!!

The whole system needs a general overhaul.

Our 3rd president - perhaps the most intelligent president we ever had - Thomas Jefferson, called for "A REVOLUTION EVERY TWENTY YEARS"!

But this very WISE proposal got scuttled and in fact the "Conventions" provided for in Article V of the Constitution were never called!

Some scholars argue that such blatant neglect - if not outright obstruction - on the part of Congress makes our system of government UNLAWFUL.

If popular support for OWS continues to grow - and all indications are that it will - then OWS could move on that basis to CHALLENGE THE LEGALITY AND CONSTITUTIONALITY of the whole system and demand that a national referendum be held on the matter.

A victory in the referendum would allow America to make a fresh start, in the spirit of that "Second American Revolution" that Jefferson insisted on.
