There is a lot of talk about it, and i definitely agree it is happening, especially over the last 40 years....but i think many of us haven't put the finger on the true reason for it. I think this site does an incredible job of explaining it in laymans terms...and backing it up with some data.
Then click on the "understanding interest rates and inflation" link at the top and read those few paragraphs....really good overview of why this is happening.
If the link doesn't work google search "hmscoop" and click on the first link...should say "understanding banking".
