Forum Post: The outrage is misplaced

To all the 99%'s (myself included) take some personal responsibility if you're not happy with your lot in life. It's not Obama's or Bush's fault if you're not wealthy--it's your own. Yes, we all start off at different places in life but it's up to you where you end up. The outrage against the 1% is misplaced. Wealth isn't a zero sum game and the rich aren't getting rich at the poor's expense. If we truly want to close the wage gap in this country we need to figure out what the 1% is doing right. Data overwhelmingly suggests the first step is to GET EDUCATED. Where you go from there is up to you!

Iraq really has no WMD? Who Knew? We were sure they were there.

Banks trashed the US reputation, gutted regulations, passed off trash as AAA rated securities, then planned how best to get a huge government bailout and transfer the crap from their books to the FED and the Taxpayer. Who knew? We were sure that Greenspan and the banks were genius'.

It should be .01% if you want a more accurate description. I've known people in the 1% tax bracket, they are not the problem.

The problems with the wars, the economy, and everything all start at the Federal Reserve/Whitehouse partnership. One is the puppet, the other makes decisions. One has the ability to say no, but refuses to do so, because the money is just too nice.

Blame the victim is old and tired. stop defending the criminals who crashed the world economy, taken control of our government and prey on the American people. We are a hard working people who will succeed if given a fair shot. support ows, support the 99%. Vote out the 1% defending republicans

Would you have said the same thing to the people who fought the American revolution? Don't worry about the British, just work harder, you can make it.

Its the same war we are fighting now, except that our enemy is a financial empire.

[-] 0 points by phuckyeah (-18) 11 years ago

But we did work hard and we made it. What financial empire do you speak of? Be specific.

[-] 0 points by arturo (3169) from Shanghai, Shanghai 11 years ago

We worked hard, but we fought our enemy as well.

The British empire, which most believe disappeared after WW2, still exists as an association of the ultra rich around the world. We recognize it today as Wall Street, which is actually just a junior partner to the City of London financial district.

I'm talking about personal responsibility. I was laid off for two years but don't blame wall st. What did wall st. do to you?

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

I blame Reagan.

He raised my taxes too, just like those damn teabagge(R)z. Just gottsta tax them poor folks when they're laid off.

[-] 2 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 11 years ago
[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Why so hostile? Um . . . I don't know . . . three successive wars trumped up merely for the profit of the Ultra wealthy, the corruption of the democratic process by same, the bankrupting of the Western World by same, the destruction of the global environment by same, the absuolute narsissistic greed that has impoverished a generation of Americans and thrown millions out of their homes for profit of same, an almost limitless list of clandestine wars for profit of same?

Geez, why would any of that bother anybody as long as you're comfortable? I just don't have a clue.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Still here, bamboleo. I like me some gipsy kings

[-] 1 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

Does that have a translation, dumboleo?

[-] 2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

For Dumboleo below, who couldn't understand it: Here's the translation.

Bamboleo

That love arrives this way, this way. It's not its fault. A horse that dances in vain. Because its so very scorned that's why it won't forgive your crying. That kind of love arrives this way. It's not its fault.

Love for sale. Love from in the past. Bembele, bembele, bembele, Bem, bembele, bembele

Chorus Bamboleo, bambolea Because in my life. I prefer to live it that way. Bamboleo, bambolea Because in my life. I prefer to live it that way.

You are unforgivable You are my life, the fate of destiny, in the destiny of abandonment. Still the same as yesterday, I am just the same. I can't find you, in abandonment It's impossible, I really can't find you. That's why one day I can't tell if for nothing The same as yesterday, I'm thinking of you.

Chorus Bamboleo, bambolea Because in my life. I prefer to live it that way. Bamboleo, bambolea Because in my life. I prefer to live it that way.

Bamboleo, bambolea Because in my life. I prefer to live it that way. Bamboleo, bambolea Because in my life. I prefer to live it that way.

[-] -1 points by phuckyeah (-18) 11 years ago

Come on, you're better than that.

[-] -1 points by phuckyeah (-18) 11 years ago

Man, you guys need to take it easy on the drugs. They really distort your perception of reality and all logic goes out the window. You know what? Fuck it, it's thursday night and I'm ready to party

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

You need ask why I would find your presence disgusting? You a supporter of the greedy corrupt criminal status-quo can ask that? I mean yes you trolls are stupid but really your putrid stench should disgust you.

[-] 0 points by phuckyeah (-18) 11 years ago

Contraire mon frere, I'm a supporter of personal freedom, responsibility, and free will. If you don't like that I really don't give a shit.

[-] 2 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Whatever all of the shit you have spewed so far has been in support of the scum that caused the economic meltdown. What color is the sky in your world (?) puke yellow?

[-] -2 points by GypsyKing (8708) 11 years ago

What did Wall St. do to America? That's the question you should ask, instead of boilling it all down to the level of the individual, or more basically, to your positon as an individual.

[-] -1 points by phuckyeah (-18) 11 years ago

Socialism makes people equally poor. Capitalism makes people unequally rich.

Which would you rather have?

[-] 1 points by PandoraK (1678) 11 years ago

Socialism isn't necessarily a dirty word.

I've never understood why so many believe any socialist program is the road to damnation...it's not an all or nothing deal.

We like socialism when it comes to highways, services etc, yet when it comes to helping others, we want to burn the brakes to stop it.

Compromise is another word that seems to have joined the ranks of profanity...yet compromise is what we all do daily in order to simply live.

It's not the label that is the problem, it isn't even the program, it's the attitudes against them that is...

We all know there is no Utopia just waiting for the right voting bloc, or the right time to arrive...but we can compromise, take a little of this and that to improve all of our situations, sustainably.
