Too bad there are none like him among the (R)epelican'ts in office today.

He should run again,. and I swear, I thought I would never encourage that.

Former Republican Senator Alan Simpson is one of the most vocal and outspoken members of the GOP today and he’s not afraid to openly criticize his party when it deserves it. Simpson once again gave his party a tongue lashing during an interview with the Los Angeles Times, slamming the Republican Party and the Tea Party for their refusal to compromise, their attempts to legislate the private lives of Americans in the name of religion, and the stupidity, racism, sexism, and homophobia running rampant in the party.

Republicans have riled up the extreme end of the right wing political spectrum for the last 30 years in order to win elections.

It's not workin anymore 'cause more people are expressing disgust with the extremist vitriol used to rile up that small precent of the electorate, and they have created a monster that they cannot control anymore.

Some old time Repubs see the danger and are desperately trying to pull the party back with a "rebranding" LOL what a joke.

I think & hope they have done lasting and irreparable damage to their electoral chances.

I am certainly enjoying the show.

I'd like to believe that, but alas, there is this.

It's not like they are slowing down, in their race to the bottom.

I'm not sure I agree ZD.... he can do a lot more to teach those idiots... by staying in the party... if he leaves... they will simply write him off... and not hear anything he's saying

Agree... MOST will not.... but some will .... maybe not act on it ... but they will remember... imo... the GOP is toast anyway... so really doesn't matter ;)

Zombie fucks. They have gerrymandered house districts so effectively they can control the house for 7 years.

All but 12 of repub house seats are said to be safe from challenge.

But I think there is still a chance to remove them from power.

The amazing part to me, is that not that many years ago he defined the "right wing".

It just shows how far we've really fallen.
