By now you've all been made aware of the pepperspray incident, and the arrests in Solidarity, particularly that of Captain Ray Lewis. These are the things we need to strive for in order to make our messages heard by the world. Not riots, not blockades: this. We need to strive for more peaceful acts of simple presence and perseverance in our protests, rather than trying to force a hand in disrupting business and/or trade. If we want our protests to be seen in a positive light by the rest of the world, we need to ensure that our tactics are completely on-the-level.
The most important part of peaceful protest is the "peace." The emotional impact of these recent events, the Solidarity arrests and the Pepperspraying at UNC, are unmatched by anything that any riotous assembly could ever hope to match. It was not until I was made aware of these events that I fully lobbied my support for your cause. These were the straws that broke my back.
Good luck, and keep it up.
