Forum Post: The face of evil of the greedy bankers - BANKERS' MANIFESTO

This is an extract from the "Bankers' Manifesto of 1892" and later version the "Bankers' Manifesto of 1934".

These documents are the reality of what we face with the evil of the greedy bankers.

Bankers' Manifesto of 1892:

BANKERS' MANIFESTO

We (the bankers) must proceed with caution and guard every move made, for the lower order of people are already showing signs of restless commotion. Prudence will therefore show a policy of apparently yielding to the popular will until our plans are so far consummated that we can declare our designs without fear of any organized resistance.

Organizations in the United States should be carefully watched by our trusted men, and we must take immediate steps to control these organizations in our interest or disrupt them.

At the coming Omaha convention to be held July 4, 1892, our men must attend and direct its movement or else there will be set on foot such antagonism to our designs as may require force to overcome.

This at the present time would be premature. We are not yet ready for such a crisis. Capital must protect itself in every possible manner through combination (conspiracy) and legislation.

The courts must be called to our aid, debts must be collected, bonds and mortgages foreclosed as rapidly as possible.

When, through the process of law, the common people have lost their homes, they will be more tractable and easily governed through the influence of the strong arm of the government applied to a central power of imperial wealth under the control of the leading financiers.

People without homes will not quarrel with their leaders. History repeats itself in regular cycles. This truth is well known among our principal men who are engaged in forming an imperialism of the world. While they are doing this, the people must be kept in a state of political antagonism.

The question of tariff reform must be urged through the organization known as the Democratic Party, and the question of protection with the reciprocity must be forced to view through the Republican Party.

By thus dividing voters, we can get them to expend their energies in fighting over questions of no importance to us, except as teachers to the common herd. Thus, by discrete actions, we can secure all that has been so generously planned and successfully accomplished.

Bankers' Manifesto of 1934:

BANKERS' MANIFESTO

Capital must protect itself in every way, through combination and through legislation. Debts must be collected and loans and mortgages foreclosed as soon as possible. When through a process of law, the common people have lost their homes, they will be more tractable and more easily governed by the strong arm of the law applied by the central power of wealth, under control of leading financiers. People without homes will not quarrel with their leaders. This is well known among our principle men now engaged in forming an IMPERIALISM of capital to govern the world. By dividing the people we can get them to expend their energies in fighting over questions of no importance to us except as teachers of the common herd. Thus by discrete action we can secure for ourselves what has been generally planned and successfully accomplished.

The Banker's Manifesto of 1892 is a bogus document.

It's lifted almost completely from a book titled "Imperialism in America - Its Rise and Progress" by Sarah E.V. Emery, published in 1892. In her short book (pg 71-72) she claims the source to be a dispatch in the Chicago Daily Press, March 21,1892. The bogus manifesto then follows almost word for word. She was writing about capitalists, not specifically bankers.

Some articles on the Bankers Manifesto give Charles Lindbergh Sr credit for exposing the manifesto, but are unable to give a date other then saying sometime between 1907 and 1917. Most of the articles on it were posted on conspiracy theory web sites, none offered any source, other then Lindbergh.

The pamphlet is actually amusing reading. It's similar in tone and language to most of the socialist polemics written today. Complete with shadowy conspiracies and slavery of the people at the hands of the rich only moments away, unless the people rise up.

The interesting thing about today is that the new world order conspiracy theorists are mostly libertarians from the far right.

I guess, I haven't paid much attention to who is being paranoid. To me conspiracy theories are too much like a religion no matter where they come from. You believe in spite of any proof. Proof seems to just deepen your conviction that the conspirators are somehow diabolically clever.

Yup ! and nothing brings them out of the woodwork like a crisis. I pay a lot of attention to the gold bugs and their theories about gold prices going up forever. If(when) gold crashes they will find themselves victim to the same system they thought they were circumventing by buying gold. I'm looking forward to reading their explanation.

Awww!. Reality is just no fun, don't take away my mental picture of a banker in a black cape and top hat twirling a curly mustache.

Hello. It was certainly not my intention to quote a bogus document. I do not work that way, and neither does the Movement. Banking executives have done enough bad things without making up things against them. I would like to to supply a reputable citation confirming that the Bankers' Manifesto of 1892 is bogus.

I personally don't go along with most conspiracy theories, as no one in their right mind would act in this way. Also, if they were true, I and most other people here would have been in a "gulag" years ago. I do however think the banks want to control the money for the benefit of their executives. I think this is greedy, bad for the economy and morally wrong. Most bank executives should be in jail to my mind.

don't worry - you're not the first to post inaccurate information - after all, people will believe what they want to believe and the OP fits that bill nicely.

I did not post inaccurate information. I posted the information in good faith, Who really knows of it is accurate or not? Certainly not you or I, as we were not there when the document was written. As mentioned, I have an open mind on this. It does ring true, as it does encapsulate the mentaility of the time. CEOs and other officials of banks get together even now to combat groups like OWS. We are certainly their enemies, as we are pointing out their crimes, which are certainly factual.

Google gave me over 3 million hits for Banker's Manifesto. Of the half dozen I looked at all sited Lindbergh Sr as the one to originally release it but no one knew when he did it. They all mentioned the same 10 year range. Every site carrying it is the same, none offer any source other then this reference to Lindbergh. I finally got to a site that gave me this link

http://books.google.com/books?id=LR3...page&q&f=false

and mentioned pages 71 and 72. If Emory is to be believed this super secret document was published in a Chicago newspaper in 1892. Making the Lindbergh story false. Emory's book has a 1892 copyright.

It's big on conspiracy sites because it fits in with what they want to believe. My own personal opinion, if it were factual, then these bankers are a most inept bunch of conspirators. Either that or very willing to work at a snail pace to achieve some kind of world domination, not for themselves, but for more then six generations into the future.

Wow. Bold admission of the 'One Party/Two Party' system as part of their manipulative plans as 'elites.' Now it's not too difficult to see where the speaker and founder of The John Birch Society was able to reach the conclusions and suggestions he did in the 1958 speech posted earlier here at OWS.

Thanks for posting the info!
