What happens to kids that are taught that god created the planet as opposed to those who are taught that we evolved from monkeys?

From a series of hominids and australopithecines. Haplorhinis evolved concurrently with proto-humans, but neither derive from the other. We do have a distant common ancestor, but today are nothing but cousins.

Trace everything far enough back and everything we see here evolved from the same thing.

That's doesn't mean humans evolved from monkeys though. Monkeys are a modern suborder and did not exist long enough ago to come before humans.
