Forum Post: The Biggest Hypocrite of ALL Time: Newt Gingrich

Posted 12 years ago on Jan. 20, 2012, 9:51 p.m. EST by ComeTogetherNOW (650)
This content is user submitted and not an official statement

At the very time he was circling the wagons to impeach President Clinton for sexual misconduct, he was committing adultery on his second wife with his third. What crap is that? This politician can not be trusted by his own wife, why would anyone want this man as a leader. Isn't paramount to at least be able to TRUST your leaders?

Does anyone really believe this man can win with such hypocritical behavior saying one thing and doing another? Isn't the definition of hypocrite: NEWT GRINRICH.

Just a thought.

Newt's hypocrisy is legendary, not just in "family values", but in everything from being the only speaker of the house sanctioned for ethics violations to accepting millions in lobbying fees from Freddie Mac.

Which makes him little different from every other candidate. As for winning the nomination, this is just like every other election, only more so. Pick the least objectionable candidate (as if such a distinction were possible), hold your nose, and vote.

The GOP race for the bottom is almost entertaining.

[-] 3 points by Puzzlin (2898) 12 years ago

And the TP fully embraces him! Newt goes down along with the tea baggers that support him!

See YA

[-] -1 points by Galt01 (55) 12 years ago

you'd never vote for any Republican anyway so what's your point? Obama sycophant.

[-] 5 points by XaiverBuchsIV (508) 12 years ago

I'll vote for whoever puts forth a platform based on serving citizens instead of corporations. So far that's nobody.

You, on the other hand, are captive to the illusion that one party is any different than the other.

[-] 0 points by jaktober (286) from Sonoma, CA 12 years ago

Jill Stein (Green), Rocky Anderson (Justice), Gary Johnson (Libertarian) and I'd argue Ron Paul (Republican) are all worthy of your vote. However, if you feel Libertarianism will help corporations (a common belief) than look at Stein and Anderson's campaigns.

[-] 2 points by XaiverBuchsIV (508) 12 years ago

Rocky, yes. Jill maybe. Johnson and Paul absolutely not.

"Rational self-interest" is just an excuse for unbridled greed. Unless of course one understands that a society is only as strong as its weakest member ... but that's not what Libertarians are about.

[-] 4 points by francismjenkins (3713) 12 years ago

Libertarian philosophy (or the Paul brand of it) does reduce to a self-interest philosophy, but I think more is needed to show libertarians the possible errors in their philosophy. My most profound objection to Ron Paul is his placement of property rights above civil rights (as evidenced by his comment that he would have opposed the Civil Rights Act).

Placing civil rights above property rights doesn't require a rejection of property rights, but it is a profound difference in prioritization nonetheless.

Arguing from the extreme, should we value a persons right to be free from unwarranted imprisonment over their right to ownership in personal property? These are obviously not mutually exclusive rights, but put simplistically, I think most people would rather surrender their ipod than be arbitrarily imprisoned.

The Civil Rights Act was about ending second class citizenship in the public sphere, but it did not obligate persons to invite people into their home whom they don't like. The lines we draw as a society may not be perfectly consistent, but what most people fail to realize is that perfect logical consistency is difficult to find outside of mathematics or academics.

[+] -5 points by Galt01 (55) 12 years ago

I like whomever is the most Libertarian. Which is no-one that can win.

[-] 4 points by XaiverBuchsIV (508) 12 years ago

Thank god for that.

"Rational self-interest" is the delusion that everyone will prosper through personal greed.

[-] -1 points by toukarin (488) 12 years ago

Wrong, rational self interest is the fact that all people do act in ways which they perceive to be in their interest.

It might be in someones interest to rob someone else, it might be in someones interest to buy a homeless guy a meal... it changes from person to person... but they all achieve some form of satisfaction from their actions...

[+] -4 points by TryingForAnOpenMind (-358) from Yonkers, NY 12 years ago

Amen...lib's have herd mentality, personality disorder. Unhappy people become Liberals. Birds of a feather flock together. An unhappy person looks around and sees two groups: Rather than take a page out of the former group, lib's enter the herd and ask for help and guidance on how to become happy, the person is more likely to choose the path of least resistance — of instant acceptance. “Come to Mumsy, darling, you’re one of us.” And once in the herd, it becomes very difficult to leave it.

The Liberal, of course, will deny this pathology. No, they say, they are only trying to make things fair. Liberals are consumed with fixing the world. By eliminating what is unfair, by eliminating the evil banks and the greedy corporations, all the little people will receive what is rightfully theirs! So twisted with hate, and so convinced of their own ineptness., they cannot even rely on themselves to overthrow The Other. They hand over their own power to a third party — the GOVERNMENT — to do their dirty work in the form of the confiscatory process of increased taxation and regulation.

Liberals, however, have got it turned around. They seek to heal the world before healing themselves first. They see this as somehow noble, great sacrifice. Well, it’s easy to make a sacrifice when you regard yourself as valueless. Every major religion across almost every culture, instructs man to take care of himself first, and then attempt to heal the world.

[-] 3 points by UncomonSense (386) 12 years ago

Excellent candidate? Hahahahahahaha

You don't need to try for an open mind, your brain fells out long ago.

[+] -4 points by TryingForAnOpenMind (-358) from Yonkers, NY 12 years ago

you are obviously a close minded, highly partisan, lib & intolerant of opposing view points. good luck with that.

[-] 2 points by UncomonSense (386) 12 years ago

You think you are "open-minded" because you overlook Gingerich's ethical problems, hypocrisy, and lies? That's not open-mindedness, that's stupidity. LOL

[-] 1 points by brightonsage (4494) 12 years ago

Soooo, the absence of news means there is a coverup. Do I have the right? Why don't you go to Somalia and do some investigative reporting. I haven't heard anything about Obama from there. Oh, and while you're at it go to Mexico and check on Romney's birth certificate. And which of his grandfather's wives was his mother? I don't want to start any rumor's without knowing that there are no facts to back them up.

[-] -1 points by TryingForAnOpenMind (-358) from Yonkers, NY 12 years ago

We don't know anything about the guys real history...Hello ! There has already been a major media black out on any solid reporting re..Obama's roots, education, family etc.. Please... you seem a gullible, dopey lemming.. wise up.....stop swallowing all the crap you see on CNN.

[-] 1 points by brightonsage (4494) 12 years ago

And I will only get the truth on .....Fox News? "Solid"" means folks reporting the conclusions you have already drawn? You pick the only valid sources how? You have evidence that conflicts with the reports of many, many news organizations re Obama's roots, education, family etc. and we are going to see it soon, right? I thought that other news organizations did some re[porting on these questions. Or, do you just have questions that aren't satisfied by any news organizations? This is the way the free market works. The National Inquirer can report exclusively, if they find evidence.

Have you talked to the investigators that Trump sent to Hawaii? By now they should have something and can get back to the O.J. Simpson investigation.

I am pretty sure that his mother came from Kansas (I grew up there) and the folks in Wichita spoke well of her and her parents (her mother at least.) But just because his mother was from Kansas (and white and a citizen of the US) shouldn't automatically disqualify him, should it? I have heard that both Hawaii and the Panama Canal Zone, where McCain was born, were owned by the United States. What if the birther's are right? Is your marriage invalid?

Just curious, have you seen Romney's father's birth certificate? Was he born in Mexico or the Provisional State of Deseret? Did he have American citizenship? Which wife was his mother?

[-] 0 points by TryingForAnOpenMind (-358) from Yonkers, NY 12 years ago

Who cares about them? They are not USA hating, perpetrators of a radical agenda like our citizen of the world pres.

[-] 1 points by brightonsage (4494) 12 years ago

Just testing. You got some heavy lifting to grow into your moniker (user name). I think we know who the USA hating perpetrator of a radical agenda would be,

An open mind is about looking at the facts and making a rational decision. The GOP said it was all about jobs. Then they spent all of their time and effort on 1. abortion (that creates a lot of jobs 2.union busting, and 3. trying to get even more tax cuts for the 1% who bought them. Talk about a radical agenda.

Since Romney (who is exactly the GOP definition of a "job creator") got rich on the carried interest loophole, how many jobs has he created since he left Bain? His taxes would have been $3-4million more in 2010 without the Bush loophole. How many people did he hire?

If you are a 1%er, how much have you "saved" by the tax cut loophole? And how many people have you hired as a result? If you are just a bigot, never mind.

[-] 0 points by TryingForAnOpenMind (-358) from Yonkers, NY 12 years ago

why are you bringing race into it again....? that is a smarmy diversion that the left's often employ.

[-] 1 points by brightonsage (4494) 12 years ago

First definition from Merrium-Webster: "A bigot is a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices, especially one exhibiting intolerance, and animosity toward those of differing beliefs."

How many people did he hire? how many people have you hired as a result? And the answers to the questions are....? (Numbers would be good. If you are just a bigot, never mind.)

[-] 1 points by CJamesTurnBlue (2) 12 years ago

Dark past? Really? Consider your audience here. You lose us after making a racist comment.

[-] -1 points by TryingForAnOpenMind (-358) from Yonkers, NY 12 years ago

How many times has Neuter been married? No faith or dedication at home. Just exactly what kind of leader are the republicans looking for?

[-] 2 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 12 years ago

Mitt Romney publicly supports the NDAA's provisions granting the President dictatorial power to arrest, indefinitely detain, torture and assassinate American citizens, as does Rick Santorum, but Newt seems rather silent on his actual position on indefinite detainment of American citizens. New seems like the kind of guy that would appreciate having dictatorial power over his subjects, so it seems perfectly natural that Newt would do nothing to eliminate the repeal of our rights under the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Amendments.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20120119084349AA9ynZw

Newt's position is the same as President Obama's. He supports it.

[-] -2 points by LaraLittletree (-850) from Scarsdale, NY 12 years ago

You guys have a different set of standards when it comes to Democrats..(hello honey....that's hypocrisy) ... If Obama really wanted to do something effective with that $400 B+ jobs bill money, bail out etc., why isn't he telling private businesses to line up and file applications for some of it in order to expand their businesses and hire? Because he cares NOTHING about the private sector. He could also have recommend the Finance Committee take the pressure off the banks so they can release loan money to private businesses instead of giving the banks the incentives being handed out right now to NOT lend and stop blaming the Republicans for that money not being distributed.

[-] 1 points by CurveOfBindingEnergy (165) 12 years ago

Do you just ignore facts that don't fit your narrow point of view? BO oversaw the biggest corporate bailout in history - tens of trillions of dollars - most of it with no strings attached.

[-] -2 points by LaraLittletree (-850) from Scarsdale, NY 12 years ago

word...But I bet there were strings.

[-] 1 points by CurveOfBindingEnergy (165) 12 years ago

Of course there were. but running in the opposite direction that you think.

[-] 2 points by ComeTogetherNOW (650) 12 years ago

We see him on FOX News and every other news program pontificating his conservative values incessantly and to the untrained eye or casual passerby, he could appear intelligent and smart. However, we know the truth. He's a typical right wing windbag that uses those same words to lie his way to the top of the conservative food chain. Don't take my word for it, how about someone who knows him a little more intimately--like his second wife Marianne Gingrich? Marianne has the details:

But there was something strange and needy about him. "He was impressed easily by position, status, money," she says. "He grew up poor and always wanted to be somebody, to make a difference, to prove himself, you know. He has to be historic to justify his life."

Clinton was impeached for lying to a grand jury. Not for cheating on his wife. I wonder if they ever figured out what the definition of Is Is. Or if they ever solved the whitewater case of the impossible suicide of the clintons business partners and lost documents that disappeared. Honestly its a sad thing the best candidate is always 'the lesser of 2 evils'

And repelicans insisted that any response to the twin embassy bombings would be nothing more than a distraction from that most pressing issue found upon some blue dress . . .

And then there was September, 2001.

Here we are, over ten years later, finally winding up a decade of war on two fronts - and it is clear in retrospect, that repelicans have no concept of what is and what is not, a matter of pressing national security . . . .

Top it off, with a clear view of the chief prosecutor over that affair . . .

  • Kenneth Starr is a fraud

    • May 27, 2010 – Kenneth Starr, 66, was ordered held without bail on charges of wire fraud, investment adviser fraud and money laundering after a prosecutor ...

Get this. He was hired by the head lobbyist of Freddie Mac. which meets the definition of being a lobbyist and then he claims that he hired the foremost expert on the restrictions on lobbying, so he could bend the law as much as possible and still avoid prosecution. Way to go, Newt, for setting an example that our kids can aspire to. Grow up to be a "historian" at $25,000 a month on a lobbyists payroll.

[-] 1 points by brightonsage (4494) 12 years ago

He's pro wrestling moved up town in an Armani suit. Of course Romney is a manikin in an Armani suit. Then there is Santorum in a white sheet and an Armani suit. And that would leave Ron Paul, bailing out Rand from refusing a pat down in an Armani suit.

[-] 1 points by opensociety4us (914) from Norwalk, CT 12 years ago

‎I think Newt is on to something. Screw those highly paid janitors and their families, man. Cuz in America we got kids who'll do that work just for food. We don't even have to give the young ones cold hard cash, just food stamps!

[-] 1 points by wellhungjury (296) 12 years ago

Gingrich has many faults and can definitely be a hypocrite. Let me explain this one more time. Clinton was impeached because he LIED in court while being questioned about sexual misconduct charges in the case of Paula Jones vs Bill Clinton. Facts are facts. Now go nail Gingrich to the wall on some facts of which there are plenty. Adultery was not the reason. Lying in court under oath was the reason. Maybe there is an example of Gingrich lying in court and then you have a stronger point here.

[-] 1 points by CJamesTurnBlue (2) 12 years ago

If this is the opposition presented by our binopoly, it is obvious that the powers that be have decided to reelect Obama. Probably because he gave up all the cash. Poor ole chubby eye of Newt with his wishy-washy flip-flopping and obvious jealousy of Clinton's sexual prowess, he knows he will never measure up. Although he does have good hair but that is not enough to get him elected. (PS: I have some chub so please do not ping me about the chub comment. Most American are very shallow and will not elect a fat person as President. Period.)

Young women getting pregnant, and living at home with their parents because their "sleezebag" boyfriend won't "man up".

That's today society and you condem Newt.

Fatherless chldren being raised by women

That's todays society and you condem Newt.

And you wonder why this country is in the shape it's in today with crime, rape and murder

That's todays society and you condem Newt.

[-] 1 points by CurveOfBindingEnergy (165) 12 years ago

[-] 1 points by CurveOfBindingEnergy (165) 12 years ago

Your answer is a poor demonstration of logical reasoning.

[-] 0 points by SteveKJR (-497) 12 years ago

Well, I provided some facts to give you and others a "glimps" of just how todays society thinks when it comes to "honor and respect". So, if you think Newt is a "sleeze" for what he did then you had better condem at least a 1/3 of todays society because they fall into the same category.

So how can one person condem another person when the person doing the "condemnation" has done the same.

Newt is the man !!! he understands that we must reject and fundamentally change the course that Barack Obama has set for America.

Newt is our only chance in 2012 to contrast a Reagan conservative with Obama's European' styled socialism.

Newt exemplifies the conservative principles reagan championed.

Strong national defense, lower taxes and smaller government.

In the 90’s Newt's leadership brought us the Contract with America which changed Washington.

I’m confident Newt can do it again.

We cannot afford a candidate backed by the same Washington insiders who repeatedly tried to undermine the Reagan revolution.

Actually, too small.

Your head has been stuck up your backside for some time now, judging from the quality of your writing...and your opinion. You must breathe nothing but flatulence and gas,,,,after you've eaten sausage, cabbage and beans.

party on dude.. go Newt !!!..We love your sassy attitude... So hot.

[+] -5 points by headlesscross (67) 12 years ago

So why did you put your trust in Slick Willy? He was a fucking POS of a POTUS,better than Obama but a lying POS. Gingrich has more integrity than Obama and the Der Schleeck Meister ever had.

[-] 4 points by nucleus (3291) 12 years ago

Newt is your definition of integrity?

“To balance the budget as we did for four years when I was speaker, to reform entitlements, as we did with welfare, when I was speaker, and that's a great future…. It took us three years [to balance the budget]. We then balanced it for four consecutive years. We paid off $405 billion in debt. Nobody thought we could do it when it started. We did it.” -- Newt Gingerich

Newt apparently forgot that Clinton was president then. The budget was balanced in part because of a gusher of tax revenues from Clinton’s 1993 deficit reduction package, which raised taxes on the wealthy and which Gingrich vehemently opposed.

The budget was also balanced because the Democratic White House and Republican Congress were in absolute legislative stalemate, so neither side could implement grand plans to increase spending or cut taxes. (Look what happened with tax cuts—and the surplus—when a Republican president followed Clinton.)

Also, Gingerich resigned in 1999, so he can't claim four years 1997-2001) of balanced budgets.

“I've had time to look and see what has happened in the executive branch, which I spent over six years with President Bush and his team.” -- Newt Gingerich

Newt left congress in 1999, two years before the Bush inauguration. Yet he makes it sound like he had a cabinet post.

Should we talk about Newt's adultery - multiple affairs from the self-styled "family values" conservative, dodging alimony payments, draft dodging, ethical sanctions levied against him as house speaker, etc., etc.

[-] -2 points by headlesscross (67) 12 years ago

Apparently you can't read,I didn't say "definition of integrity".

But I still stand by my statement.

[-] 2 points by UncomonSense (386) 12 years ago

It was a question. That's what the little button-hook character over a period means.

You can stand anywhere you like. But you might get some on you if you stand too close.

Newt Rocks.. Flaws and all. Go Newt !!!!

Newt understands that we must reject and fundamentally change the course that Barack Obama has set for America.

Newt is our only chance in 2012 to contrast a Reagan conservative with Obama's European' styled socialism.

Newt exemplifies the conservative principles

Strong national defense, lower taxes and smaller government.

In the 90’s Newt's leadership brought us the Contract with America which changed Washington.

I’m confident Newt can do it again.

We cannot afford a candidate backed by the same Washington insiders who repeatedly tried to undermine the Reagan revolution.

[-] 1 points by nucleus (3291) 12 years ago

The Contract ON America, you mean.

And BO is just following the course laid down by every president's handler's since Reagan. If you think BO is a socialist, you are severely deluded.

[-] 1 points by proletarian (8) 12 years ago

Newt is not going to lead a revolution.

[-] -1 points by LaraLittletree (-850) from Scarsdale, NY 12 years ago

who cares about a revolution? let's just try to slow the bleeding.
